A Day with Picasso: 24 Photographs by Jean Cocteau

The other day, I came across this book, by one Billy Kluver, in a remainder bin at my local bookstore. It is a decidely quirky little book, and also a delight. For the story of how it came to be written, which included analysis by the French Bureau des longitudes and by experts at George Eastman House on the history of Kodak cameras and emulsions, see http://www.robertfulford.com/Montparnasse.html.

Not a book about large format, but a charming exercise in detective work, the history of early cameras, Jean Cocteau's fascination with photography and a day in the life of Picasso and friends during World War I.
