    Speedotron 4803 with 105 4 heads

Any Speedotron 4803 with 105 heads users here? I thought I could use the 105 4 heads unit with two 4803 for 9600ws but the plug won't work for 2400. It could only be plugged into the middle 2400 which is basically a split of 2400=1200 each. Is there any plug adapter out there? I looked into the 14202 plug converter but it didn't seem to be for that purpose. Much appreciated! Thanks!

Use a quad head. That's what I do. 4x2400ws=9600ws from one source & 3 packs, one a 4803. I have a hunch that the different size plugs are so you don't blow up the tube in the head.

The 105 with two cords uses 4800ws, same as a 106 or a 206, but has a much faster flash duration. The 105 quad (with four cords) pulls 9600ws but has a slower flash duration. In either case, all 105 units have four bulbs and the cords fit into the 2400ws plugs, not the 4800ws. So with the 4803 unit you should be plugging the 105 quad into one plug per column, center and left, in two boxes. To get full power make sure that you have variable output on full and have "combine" selected on the 800/1600ws column.

It could only be plugged into the middle 2400 which is basically a split of 2400=1200 each

The middle column's 2400ws output is only split when you put two plugs into that column. With one plug it puts out 2400ws. Similarly the 800/1600ws column will only unevenly split the output if you select "isolate." I recommend reading the manual: http://www.speedotron.com/resource/instruction_manuals The 4803CX LV boxes are not much different from the older 4803 or 4803CX boxes, so the current manual is fine.

    Hi Jason and Mark,

Thank you so much for the post! I thought by plug in one at the center only gets you 1200 instead of 2400 as the middle row doesn't have the "Combine" switch. It makes sense to plug into the left row with combined power so 1600+800=2400. As long as one plug in the middle gets you 2400, then I am all set. I was almost trying to remodel my plug to fit two into the right row which has two 2400. I will read the manual tonight. I do use the 105 4 cable model. Thanks!
