Hey all.
I'm scanning some 4x5 colour slides with a better scanning film holder (I'm using an Epson v700 scanner).
Sometimes, I get what appears to be a crescent shaped"artifact" near the top...
They're a bit clichéd, but here are some photos I took of the Melbourne skyline ...
They were Fuji Across, 4 minute exposures @f22 (or f16, can't remember ...)
My focus was slightly off in the...
Thanks alexn :)
I was surprised how well the thing scans. I have had some photo's done by a drum scanner, which had AMAZING quality, but for the price, I think the V700 is great !
I have some...
Do you think he brackets ?
I took these images about a year ago, around Anzac day, in Canberra, Australia :
This was taken outside (obviously, the film was Astia)

And this taken in the interioir (Velvia 50)

Kinda bummed about this, given that I was planning to use E100G as the replacement for Astia ...
Now it looks like I'll need to stock up on what's left of Astia, AND E100G, and I'm still 2 weeks...
I've got an f64 for my 4x5 setup. It's great for putting everything, including my fuji 6x9 rangefinder, lots of lenses, and lots of film.
Not very comfortable for long walks though, and am...
I use powerder free latex gloves.
Boxes of 100, no need to worry about lint, or the gloves collecting lint/dust while in the wash either, and can still feel my way around a changing bag.
... and finally ...
I posted some images of my "drive 'round bits of Australia" trip in the waterfalls and landscape thread, but had some "urban" shots too.
The second image is kinda obvious,...
Hey all :)
Already posted in the landscapes thread, but to continue, I was driving around bits of Australia, getting to know my 4x5 camera.
Here are some waterfall shots I took.
The first 2...
So a few months ago I spent a bit of time driving around some bits of Australia, and got to "know" my 4x5 camera.
I'll be posting a few other images in the appropriate thread, but here are a few...
I'll second this.
Since I moved from the 5 reel tank to the 3 reel, I've had no issues doing 6 sheets at a time. It's actually been on the road with me for the past 6 weeks, and works a treat !
...
I'm curious about the stability too.
Tetenal may say 10 years, but what's the stability on something developed with a Kodak or Fuji 6 bath ?
Awesome idea !
Was thinking something along those lines, but never occurred to me to use one of those pouches :P
My pouches will be full of film, but they're cheap enough to get another one, or...
Dang !
I loaded the pack up, and it's so roomy ! I can fit in a 4x5 camera, 3 lenses, a fuji gw690, a 35mm SLR and still have room to spare !!!
As for the tripod, I should be able to retrofit a...
Hey all.
So a lovely F64 BP backpack arrived at my door a few hours, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how I'm supposed to attach a tripod to it !
HALP !!!
:D
(btw, everything...
I've never had issue with the out sheets falling out. I had more issue with the inner sheets jumping out and touching the middle sheets.
I overcame this but cranking down the agitation to...
Bit of a bump :)
Was down at Cape Shanck (coastal area, surf beach, lots of cliff faces) over the weekend, to "practice".
The conditions were crazy ! Very windy, ultra paranoid about anything...
I like the idea of a roll film back, but I already have a gw690 that I quite like playing with (huge camera, but really light for it's size ! My Canon AE-1 feels heavy in comparison !).
Still...
Thanks for the greets :)
I'm kinda planning a "road trip" autumn next year (march/april), so am planning to see Tasmania, various other bits of Australia, and kinda go ballistic with the photos :)...
Hey all !
My name's Michael, from Melbourne, Australia, and I'm new to large format photography (isn't this how AA meetings start ?).
I was always into 35mm (colour slide), but once I get into...
