Re: Crazy Movements of View Cameras

It has never made it past the thought experiment, to be honest. I prefer full-frame fisheyes, and have them for several camera systems, including my Pentax 67.

  2. Re: Sweet Ruin: The Brooklyn Domino Sugar Refinery

Yes, the images are digital, but I suspect the conditions were so poorly lit that they would have simply been impossible to present this way using traditional techniques.

Re: Crazy Movements of View Cameras

A 180-degree fisheye generally illuminates a circle of diameter three times its focal length. I have several examples, including a 30mm Arsat that would make a nice full-circle fisheye on 4x5.

All the research in the world is just a fraction of what you learn making that first photograph.

    Re: Sinar Shutters

The heavy actuation is normal, near as I can tell. It's a large shutter and the cable release is cocking it before releasing it (one reason the throw is so long). I'm not sure a video of mine would...
  10. Re: Sinar Two-Sided, Partial Mirror for 4x5. Use???

That's the way the contrast control unit on a Bowens Illumitran works, but it doesn't use a semi-mirror--it just uses a piece of glass. And the effect is still too strong--when I play with that...

MF (6x4.5 to 6x12) COLOR image sharing

It's been a while since I had images to show, mostly because my Nikon 8000 scanner stopped working (again). Rather than spend another $600 servicing it, I finally found a lightly used 9000 that went...
