Re: how to take apart a Nikkor APO?

You'll have to track down a Sinar camera to go with it...

  2. Re: Sick Grandagon Seeks Specialist (4x300kb imgs)

That is definitely a problem with Angulons, not so sure about Super Angulons or Grandagons.

  3. Re: 8X10 Holder Weight and Why 8X10 is called 8X10???

The weight of a modern Fidelity Elite 10x8 dark slide is 620gm. Sorry, don't have any wooden ones. If you want pounds and ounces you'll have to do the maths yourself!

  5. Re: Why the price difference from 4X5 to larger sized Formats???

Yup, plus the fact that, in volumetric terms, a 10x8 is sixteen times the size of a 5x4...!
  6. Re: Lenses with E-6 Emulsions...Multi vs. Single Coated Lenses

Because one can't always control flare, or at least not sufficiently. Having said that, the difference between single- and multi-coating on LF lenses is minimal – much less than the difference...

Re: Who's Day Job is Photography?

It used to be mine. Some good times, but I never managed to find time for my own work, plus the stress of dealing with some real arsehole clients led me to quit more than twenty years ago. I have...

    Re: Schneider Super Angulon

Optically they are the same, I believe, and both are single coated. The only difference, apart from cosmetics, is that the 00 shutter is harder to get fixed if it goes wrong.

    Re: New Nikon Lenses

It's working this morning, but all I could find was a new 600/800/1200 telephoto set for which he is asking GBP 1,766. A snip!

  14. Re: Value of Linhof Technikardan 6x9 + 47mm Super Angulon + more?

To state the obvious it's worth whatever the highest bidder is prepared to pay for it. If you are looking to get into LF you'd be better off working out what you think *you* need and then checking...

Is it on your shortlist, is it not on your shortlist, or can't you say? Despite the double negative I'll take a guess that you don't like it much ;)

Why? It's about average weight for an older...

Re: Folding MPP Mk VIII & Optar 135 mm

Great cameras – especially the MkVIII – though I'm not so sure about the lens as it will have rather limited covering power. I use 90mm S/Angulon and 150mm Symmar-S on my MPP.

    For detailed advice...

Re: Nikkor T 6.3/270mm: feedback anyone?

Without consulting the Oracle, I very much doubt if a 240mm Tele-Xenar would cover 5x4in. It's even a bit tight on 12x9cms, though I suppose it would be OK for close-ups

Do you really need to use the Copal 3 mounted lens on any other camera? If not why not just get an Arca board drilled for #3 – plenty of spare room there!
