Really useful information! Thanks!
Yeah, I was inaccurate in saying contrast, as iv found out I need a filter for infrared work rather than a standard colour one.
Thats great! Ah yes, the old kodak HIE infrared ghost?
Hi,
Was wondering if anybody has any advice for the highest level contrast filter for a 5x4 camera lens? I have never used filters before, the only reason I want one is for doing infrared work...

Hmm, I would imagine they would do regular tests with the machine using materials made for testing, I cant remember what their called, the strips you buy to test chemical condition.. I suppose as a...
It is a Linhof Shnieider. I looks pretty intact... The shutter speeds are the older type, as in 50th rather than 60th, 25th instead of 30th ect. I have re-metered for that though..
Had lens serviced, meter works at all other times, also did digital tests to be meter wasnt drastically off, flim loaded into holder the correct way!
Hmm, I suppose a b/w test comparing shutter...
Hi, I am having some problems processing 5x4 slide film. I am not attempting doing it myself, that would be ridiculous! No, I am using a lab to do that. The problem I am having is that my slides...

Right, thanks for the info, il go with the Symmar!
Hi, just wondering if anyone has any advice on these lenses. I want a 'standard' lens for 5x4, iv been shooting with a wide angle (Nikkor SW 90mm 4.5) but im fed up of the distortion, so I want...

Ah, I see. Thanks, I will not open the box in the light!
Hello, I need some help with getting the film into the holder. As far as I am aware 5x4 film is in a box which has another layer inside, which opens up to the sleeve the film is in. I was just...

Hey, thanks a lot for all of the information. Yeah im actually doing the same set up of PanF on a tripod, the photographs from it come out really nice. I decided on going for 5x4 instead of 10x8 as...
Thats great, thanks for all the charts and info, I have more of an idea now. Im not going to be doing anything longer than two seconds, and mostly B=W, so it shouldnt prove too much of an issue. Iv...
Could somebody explain this to me? I understand what it is, increasing exposure times as film does not react to light in the way it was intended to at longer exposures. I looked at Ilford's chart...
Its more a matter of image quality, and to do with how I want to enlarge it, having a larger rectangular format just involves less enlarging than cropping a 6x6 frame
Happy Christmas to you too. I am shooting mostly medium format 6x6 at the moment using a Yashica 124, after shooting 35mm on a Pentax K1000 for the past few years. I know how to develop black and...
Thats great, thanks for the advice everyone, thats given me a better understanding
Thats great, il check the links out, thank you
So it dosnt matter which format you want to use it for? My mother has an enlarger in the attic, she never used it for the larger formats though so I wasnt sure if I could.
Hello,
I need an enlarger that is capable of being used for 35mm, 6x6 medium format, and 5x4, 10x8 large format. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am aware I will need different lenses for it,...
