could you please measure the dimensiones of the graphic steel adapter? the linhof board ist just about 129 mm square, so not much space will be left to...
a spacer could resolve the problem but it is ugly :) i would prefer a neat solution.
waiting to see your toyo lensboard adapter.
boris
the linhof 5x7 lensboard is smaller and the locking mechanic eat at least 1,5 cm from the 13cm square . don't think it is possible
i am not sure if i understood... i will add an...
I have a Linhof Technika 5x7 with an adapter for technika 4x5 boards. till now i use smaller lenses in technika 4x5 lensboards. so far so good.

thanks, boris
how much did you pay for a new bellows?
you get wrinkeles if you close the camera without loosening all the knobs carefully. if the bellows are already wrinkeled it's to late.
mine was wrinkel free for almost 20 years... i few seconds of...
"One of the lenses that came with it is a beautiful 300mm Symmar convertible, is there enough bellows draw to focus it in 500mm mode? Apparently, it needs 61cm."
even if you would succeed to focus...

between the knurled knob and the dogleg you can see a lever, pull it town and you can aply back swing. you should open the camera a bit, otherwise the compressed bellows would imped the movement....

toby,
i always use levelling tripods without a head. berlebach, gitzo or manfrotto produce them. if money isn't a deal breaker try this,...
cool, i like it alot! even the backround is very sophisticated.
robbert,
i like the idea very much. was it made with a largeformat camera?
boris
the berlebach uni is the most stable i have used. no head is needed, camera can move 30° on the huge ball. the only cons is the weight and bulk otherwise just great.
developing a print this big isn't easy either, unless you have a professional developing machine... you could avoid a lot of trouble by scanning the negativ and continue the digital path.
very cool portrait hugo!
could you tell us something about the exposure and lightsource?
boris
good advice, but the pictures were taken 3000 miles from home so no way to rephotograph....

a toyo 4x5 field is a very precise camera, it can be found for around 650$ in exellent condition.
boris
i like it !
the wide lens with the elevated camera position fit very well the model. he looks like a shy gitar player...
unusual and very interesting.
thanks for sharing.

@ dank, sevo

boris
as a matter of form. i will include the linhof option..
1. once upon a time i had the linhof profi III ( first picture). 1900$, load12kg, weight 3,4kg. just a great head, if you don't look at the...
thank you brian.
i would like to buy the manfrotto 160 (bogen 3057) because of the comparative short handel. i was just unsure because of it's rarity. b&h doesn't sell it..
boris
the first on the left is a bogen 3039 (manfrotto 229) load capacity 12kg.
the far right (#160) is rated till 10kg.
why would you choose #160
hi,
after 15 years using the berlebach levelling head i want to buy a 3 way head.
i would love to buy a geard head like the manfrotto 400 but its to expensive for me.
alternatives are,

i use the gitzo combo with a linhof 5x7 and a 600mm tele lens! if you have the money and don't care to carry a 4kg tripod, so yes, it's great....
BUT i would look at a manfrotto 745. you don't...
the drums are made of different part. they are glued together. why not to use the original glue? jobo sells it, at least in germany.
boris
