I had a 2450 and had the occasional problem of the scanner not seeing the whole of my 6x9 Velvias. I think this may have been a software issue with the contrast of the film. Whatever it was I ditched...
Have a look a 3) here -http://www.ebonycamera.com/articles/FAQ.html
I just got a F-Stop Satori EXP with Large Pro ICU at the weekend. They are expensive but are very good. Currently have my Ebony 45SU and all the accesories in the ICU and 3 additional lenses in a...

My experience. I have a 2450 and am also thinking of upgrading to a V700. For different reasons though. Firstly I also scan 4x5 (using Vuescan) at 2400 dpi and can print perfectly good A2 prints. So...
I have a vague recollection that Win7 x64 Home Prem edition will only address 16Gb of RAM. If you have more then you'll need to pay more for Win7 Pro or Ultimate which can address up to 192Gb. Not...
I use Vuescan to run my Epson 2450 with Win7 x64. Works well.
My scanner is built with iron and runs on coal :D so I thought I'd have to bin it when I upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit. But Vuescan has no problems with the old Epson 2450.
Just to add my comment;
The Ebony RSW45 was my first LF camera which I decided upon after reading Joe Cornish's review. I bought it in 2002 and it wasn't until 2010 that I eventually felt a stong...
Another big thumbs up for the 3880.
Although it can't take roll paper, the max cutom settable print size is 37x17 inches. So if you want BIG 2:1 panoramics you could buy your paper in a roll, cut it...
First lens was a new Schneider 90/8 SA bundled with the Ebony RSW45 I got from Robert White. This was my first venture into LF.
When I added the 150/5.6 I realised the 90 was very dark and so...
And here is something I did with my first LF B&W;

Going back to the original post - NO!
Because you are not comparing like for like. If you want to cheat by enlarging your digital capture to native resolution you should do the same with your film....
I did just that - I replaced my 90/8 SA with the 80/4.5 SSXL. I must admit, however, my prime motivation was the darkness when trying to focus the 90. The 90 was my first lens on my first LF camera...
I shoot landscapes with 58, 80, 150, 270 lenses on my Ebony RSW.
My first was well over eposed but as I was unsure I bracketed and although it was also overexposed I got this out of it using photoshop on the scanned tranny. March 2002.

I have three more;

Thanks Ernest for the info. This puts it earlier than I thought. I have a H-B Mayfair which is a box Brownie style which I think is from the 30s. It takes 6x9s on 120 film and I managed to make that...
Ok, so I've taken a few pictures now and put them in a Flickr set which can be viewed here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/24301567@N08/sets/72157621877771829/

I have recently been given the above camera. It is very tatty but I am determined to make it work. It is 1/4 plate I think (4 1/4 by 3 1/4 - is that quarter plate?). It has an Aldis Anastigmat No.17...
Whilst setting up for this image in Switzerland;

I have made a half dark slide and also cut a replacement GG cover with the 2x5 aperture in it for composing. I have stuck A/B labels on my dark slides so when I make notes I include the A/B and...
Apologies if this is too obvious. You didn't say whether you constructed the pinhole yourself. If you did remember to make the pinhole conical and not cylindrical.
Here is one of mine. Rhue Lighthouse near Ullapool, Scotland.

Two items of good practice. Can anyone confirm that these are good practice and any insight as to why;
1. A shutter should be left uncocked and at its slowest speed or B or T if not in use for any...
OK, thanks guys. I think I understand it best in terms of the aera of a circle or simply the area of a square. Since we are dealing with comparative ratios I think we can ignore the constant of pie...
Not really sure where to ask this question. And it may be a silly question but here goes; If the multiplier for one stop of aperture is 1.414 (the square root of 2) then what is the multiplier for a...
Re: Image circles. Remember that the image circle is an idication of largest format that can be used with that lens. e.g. a lens with an image circle of 210mm can be used on any format up to 5x7 but...
All I can add here is that I wanted a standard, a wide and a short telephoto for my landscape work. I have a Ebony RSW which has a limited bellows extension so the short tele was a challenge. I have...
I'd like to see multi format (6x6, 6x7,6x9, 6x12, 6x17) capabilty in one body. hmmmm. Trouble is, would make my GSW690 a bit redundant.
PM sent yesterday.
