Hey everyone. Does anyone know how to remove the hoop finder from the front standard of a crown? It seems all inside with no way to access. Would rather not hack it... Camera is pristine. But I...
Hi Jim, I saw that, and according to that it should only just cover. I've always thought of image circle in terms of....immediately goes black outside of image circle.
Maybe schneider is just...
Thanks for moving...
I've been reading around today about the lens on my crown special. I've only ever used it handheld with rangefinder so no movemts. Everything I keep reading says the lens will offer zero movements...
So, looking at the ebony's on ebay I see some in pretty rough shape for like $2k. I also see a walker titan brand new bought from Mike Walker for $1650. Would you go for another ebony at this point...
Hey Drew I like the idea of those wonderlust cameras. I had and used a cambo wide for a few years, and I did like it. It was sure fast to use. I don't think you can buy one of those travelwide...
It is. Expensive I know... And you order direct from Bill Maxwell. I've always wanted to try one... It's always been the weak link in all my large format setups. If I could eliminate a loup and...
Super bright yet expensive screen. Read about it here... http://www.rolleirepairs.com/maxscreen.htm
Hey Drew, I have a super nice crown graphic that I enjoy using, but the screen is super dim and despite lots of reading couldn't figure out how to swap out the screen with a maxwell. If I could swap...
For some reason in my head I thought these cost more? I like the 57 with 45 back idea, but I dont see the back's priced on the website. Guess I will email them.
thanks everyone, looking at them.
That Ebony RSW45 seems pretty great, but finding one may be a problem :)
The 45H-1 looks promising too.
Looking for suggestions for a fast setting up 4x5 to work from car with on the road. Need 90 and wider, front rise/fall mostly, easy maxwell screen swap or bright from the start, and fast setup. ...
Maybe just the ones I tried were terrible. Yours is clear? Compared to what I know.
I hacked together my own Polaroid conversion... It works ok... But not really for me... The biggest problem I see with all the conversions I have seen - they all use the original Polaroid RF which...
Hey Bob, thanks. I looked at the Wista RF...and at first thought they were combined. Bummer.
The Linhof EMS sounds interesting.
Is there a reason none of these 4x5's with a rangefinder...
Hey Bill, this one?:

thats it though right?
Are there any 4x5 cameras that combine a rangefinder in a viewfinder or are they all separate?
Thanks!
Thanks Louis, I did not even notice they were different sizes.
Can anyone tell if this is a 4x5 model from these photos? The bag mag appears to be 4x5? Anyone know anything about that lens? THANKS

Hey Jon, I will definitely take you up on that! Thank you !
I figured the sleeves would be the hardest part....two long sleeve black t-shirts?
I was figuring having it over the sink, I would not have a box to store or clean.
That, and I could not find...
I am in the middle of moving my darkroom into a new house. There is no really good way to light proof the laundry room where I have set up my temporary darkroom.
I was thinking of a tent over the...
Hey Dan, thanks again. Had not even thought of that, but no should be all good. The 35mm example was second film to be developed from the batch of HC110 dil G developer and it came out as expected....
Hi Dan thanks. I will mix single use batches of hc110 going forward, but the 6x6 roll and the roll last night (dil b) were both fresh mix.
Hi Jim, I mix up a gallon of dilution G developer at a time (one ounce per gallon of water), and then divvy that gallon into 4 sessions. I am not reusing the developer.
And even though I have...
Hi Roger, I did read that when I was looking. I think Kodak publications said 3.5 minutes or something.
I did HC-110 dilution B for 7.5 minutes at 70 degrees. Agitate first minute, and then 10...
It must be the film, all I can think of. I tried another roll in HC110 dilution B and got similar results. Does not explain the Delta.
I did notice last night when I was dumping the developer...
Roger thanks. I used TriX and D76 as my only film/dev for a number of years, and do like it. But I really like hc110 more than anything else I have tried. I would abandon it if others were not...
It is off by way more than one or two stops though. There is barely anything on the film. Can barely read Kodak. All of the above photos were developed separately using the same batch of...
All from the same bottle of HC110 syrup.
Here is a 35mm acros developed this way:

I have been using HC-110 dilution G for a few years, on both both acros 100 film and Arista 100 and getting results I am very very happy with in all formats 4x5, 8x10, 120 and 35mm.

There are a ton of hand holdable 4x5 cameras available though, if you include any of the old press type cameras - which were all designed to be hand held, and are just as capable as any other hand...
