Has anyone had any experience with Blue Car Rental?
Thanks very much for all of the responses. I can't wait to get to Iceland, and May should not be busy on the ring road.
I will be in Iceland next May and need a car to tour the ring road.
Can anyone recommend a car rental agency they were happy with and any I should avoid.
Much appreciated.
A short hike to Lake Agnes is pleasant and there is a tea house for lunch:

Over the years I have purchased about 30 cameras and lenses from KEH and only one had to be returned; which they did without any trouble.
Most were Ex or Ex+ and in many cases they could have...
I used a 3 lb Toho and a four lens kit. It was lighter when quickloads were still available.
Thanks for all of the suggestions. I have decided to keep it simple: One week in Yosemite valley; five days for hikes off the Tioga pass road; two days on the coast, including a visit to San Simeon.
I'm thinking of the Cathedral lakes hike, south of Tuolumne meadows; 20 lakes basin; Green creek to Summit lake. If you have taken any of these hikes I would appreciate your opinion.
Thanks Bill, I enjoyed it very much!
This site is a useful resource for Yosemite hikes:

Any recommendations for where to stay in Lee Vining?
Many thanks for all of the considered responses. I have decided to take your advice and spend most of the second week in or near Yosemite to save on driving and logistics. There are so many great...
Thanks John! I am planning to head over Tioga pass to Mono lake and the Twenty lakes basin. Perhaps Tahoe as well. So much to see!
Thanks Bruce! I completely forgot about King's Canyon. I will add it to my list.
This September I will be in Yosemite for a week. I have another week to spend in the area and would appreciate any suggestions.
(If I were going without my wife, I would stay in Yosemite for two...
Strongly agree with both Kyoto and Nara.
Vinny, how does the image quality on aluminum, dmax, shadow detail, color gamut etc. compare to inkjet?
What about mounting on Diabond and leaving the surface of the print exposed, as was done here: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/essays/mounting_prints_on_aluminium_composite.shtml

I would appreciate some guidance from someone who has experience face mounting on plexiglass.
Face mounting prints on plexiglass with a roller press and transparency mount film, what should I...
Southern France: Carcassonne, Aix, Arles, Avignon...
Thanks. An excellent tip that I hopefully won't have to use.
Were you on the Shafer Trail by any chance? From the Youtube videos it's pretty hairy.
So far, in the southwest, I have made it to Zion, Bryce, North Rim GC and Coyote Gulch in Escalante. I enjoyed them all but Coyote Gulch the most. The backpack and camping were fun as well as the...
Thanks Steve. I didn't mention it but I already planned to include it with Island in the Sky, since it is so close and rated so highly by Laurent Martres.
Thank-you Heroique, I will look into your suggestion. I am aware of Abbey's book, but have not read it. I will now! Thanks.
Thanks Eric,
That is very helpful!
Thanks dasBlute.
Would you say Capitol Reef is worth three days, for the Cathedral valley loop? Are there some interesting day hikes to photogenic locations?
Have you ever visited the Moab area in Winter Kirk?
Although highly subjective I would appreciate some input.
I will be in Utah in early May 2015 and have 12 days to apportion between Arches, Canyonlands (Island and Needles) and Capitol Reef.

Thanks for the info!
I will be in Yosemite for a week next September and I plan to camp in one of the campgrounds in the valley.
How noisy should I expect them to be at that time of the year?
Last time I was...
Lovely, the lighting, the woman's expression, the cross all come together for me to evoke a sense of peace.
A friend is looking to have a few hundred 35mm slides scanned at 4000 spi.
Would anyone have a recommendation for a lab that will do quality work on a Nikon 9000?

Still used: one acre is 10 square chains!
How much are they charging now for photo permits?
A few years ago the policy was anything larger than 35mm required one.
Thanks for posting Ken; an interesting and inspiring selection!
