Neil, do you have a photo of the groundglass.

OK. So I had a look at the Sinar's at my local University (they are slightly more modern than mine).
As per the image here: ...
Hi
I did create a post in the Wanted section as I think I need a part or component for my Sinar.
I thought I had a fresnel with no holder, when I went back to check my photos, I do have a...
Yes that looks correct. Is that a Sinar product, or something you made?
Sorry if this seems like a daft question.
I would quite like one of these.
Between making lots of test shots with my 405 back and trying to cut my own mask, I now have something which seems...
This is now it went for B/W New 55

Nearly $350K from other sources.
I...
Thank you Bob.
If any more institutions come up I will of course forward the Press Release to them.
Best of luck (both in the election and with the film)!
Hello all
I have been in contact with Bob and Sam at New55, as I offered to try and pitch their kickstarter campaign to organisations and institutions who might have an interest in backing this...
I don't disagree, however this was many years ago with friends and we were shooting in underpasses, subways, etc in a very seedy part of town, even then perhaps it was a mistake to take it.
I...
Ha, I was thinking of getting a theodolite.
Thanks everyone, this is somewhat comforting.
I remember years ago going out with a couple of friends and one bought a golf club in case of any issues, although in a way I think that potentially...
Hi
I am relatively new here.
TL/DR: I am interested in hearing if anyone has encountered horror stories when shooting LF and having people either be a nuisance or destructive.
My hope is...
Update on my Sinar.
Managed to source a Berlebach tripod and a Sinar pan tilt head. So now I have no excuse not to shoot anything, apart from crippling fear.

This was my first ever 4x5 shot (not that I have taken many since).
I wanted it almost as mundane as possible:

It turns out the Sinar pan tilt head also has a 1/4 screw. I've ordered a few bushings for now.
It's funny as the only time I have ever come across equipment using 1/4 was an old Kiev MF camera I...
I took the precaution of emailing Berlebach to ask their advice and they have pointed me to this:

Thanks, I think I will invest in the Sinar or Linhof's. The thought of the camera snapping off is nightmarish.
Hi
I just bought a Berlabach tripod (bargain), as well as a Sinar pan/tilt head (small fortune).
It looks as though the Sinar is 3/8 thread which I would expect, but the Berlebach seems to...
"Why not shoot fresh film? The cost difference is more than made up in predictable results and quality."
Yeah I don't disagree with that, but I know I have stored film well I know it will last for...
Thank you.
The scene is meant to be a shot against a bright yellow card, one image is metered just using the normal fluorescent lights, the other has been flashed from above and slightly to the...
Hello
I'm pretty new here, so apologies if I have posted in the wrong place. And since receiving my photographs back I think I know the answer but it would be good to get some expert knowledge. ...
I don't think I have ever thrown out a single photography paper box (storage), but I have only just started shooting 4x5, so I have none of the live ones emptied yet.
I did think about checking out muji.

Hi
I hope it's OK to bump this thread. I am also in need of 2 or 3 4x5 empty film boxes, if anyone can spare them?
I am UK based, more than happy to cover postage and a bit more for your...
Look at the ball head on that!
Hello.
My first post here.
On Saturday I finally became the owner of a Sinar 4x5 F1 camera with Schneider lens (and a few other pieces thrown in).
