Tom, can you guess how much you can shift the lens without vignetting ?
Anybody knows anything about this lens? So far I learned that is a retrofocus de sign so it focuses at infinity with about 10 cm of bellows draw and that it cove rs 4x5.
Any ideeas about the exact...
Ted, the minolta spot meter HAS finder illumination. what i'd really like to have is aperture priority, not shutter the way the minolta works.
Thank you Wayne
Anybody knows anything about this lens? Especially it's coverage?
too much.
I meant :
Correction, rear forward or backward tilt or swing combined with a little fall or rise or shift will allow for a tilt/swing effect with no additional coverage required.
I'm having a...

Jeff, rear centered tilt/swing doesn't require more coverage and it will allow you those shots where everything is in focus. Yeah, rise will not be possible.
Scissors? :-)
Chris, I really feel for you so I'm ready to sacrifice myself and swap my Graphic with your Wista :-)
And I thought only my cheap Graflex holders are doing that. Now I am happy I didn't spend $300 for a horseman holder and got 5 Graflex instead.
Emil, that friction solution is just fine for me. I'll check it out. Thank you.
Emil can you please elaborate on the friction based tilt. BTW, I don't require geared front tilt if there is geared rear tilt.
Simon, I need just the latter.
After some more research Wisner Pocket Expedition came as an option. I already read the threads about it, anybody wants to add something new? Maybe somebody who has used it for a while?
I'm not...
And most importantly is not a field camera. No matter how light, IMO a monorail is not something you casually take with you on the road. Thank you for the suggestion though.
I'm thinking to sell all my low cost medium & LF equipment and get a good 4x5 fi eld. By good, I mean a camera that has at least : Rotating back Geared focusing Significant geared front rise geared...
I have the 1640SU. At 800DPI is VERY sharp and it is a true 1600DPI. I scan primarily slide film and happy with it. A drum scan or the new dedicated film scanners with higher d-MAX will definitely...
Kevin, selling a device that requires a 3rd party computer to run would be IMO very difficult to sell. You'd need long wires to connect it (I don't have a computer in the bathroom), you'd run into ...
After I made some research it seems like it's not the motor that has a problem but the power source. Since I am in fact an electric engineer I will probably change the source with a more powerful...
A followup. I have to mention that the CPE2 I have (not CPE2+), being the one with the weak motor kinda struggles with the 3004. It rotates it (I had it on for 2 hours) but it looks like it's at...
I just wanted to let anybody interested that contrary to the manual and the info rmation on the Jobo site, the 3004 drum (allowing developing of 4 sheets/paper u p to 8x12") actually fits in the Jobo...
I'm not sure what model is mine. Here is the picture : http://columbuscamera.rrcol.com/lf/graflex/sgraph45spring.jpg<b r> I didn't received it yet so I don't know how the back looks like. The ad...
I decided to get a 4x5 speed graphic for light testing. It has a spring back. Wh at Polaroid back will fit? Will the 405 slide under the gound glass? I'd prefer to use 665,669 film (it's cheaper).
David, what film are you using? If your problem is grain and not the lack of details, you are probably shooting with fast film. Fast film (the higher the ASA number is the faster is the film) is...
I always use a shade or shade the lens with my hand when I use any camera, especially large format since the lens I have are only single coated. Flare greatly reduces contrast and I do my best to ...
There are several reason I didn't want to consider reducing back for the 8x10 or Polaroid back for the 2x3 graflock (even if they are available although I'm pretty sure they are not).
1. I want...
Thank you Doug, but please give me credit for searching the web first. If you know of a link that answers my question, please feel free to post it. And I hope I would've came up with the 4x5 back ...
I want a Polaroid camera to check lighting setup. I don't expect to use it much so I don't care what kind of film it uses and how expensive is the film as long as it's available and the camera is...
I was considering getting a Graflarger back for my 2x3 Speed graphic for some Ty pe R or Ciba enlargements I'd like to make. I like the ideea because I don't hav e room for a regular 2x3 enlarger and...
I just wanted to let the mamooth camera fans that there is a coated 42" f13 proc ess lens for sale on eBay. That is probably one huge piece of glass. I'm in no w ay affiliated with the seller nor I...
>If this was only a mathmatical exercise than my take on it is that this sort of exercise really doesn't have much to do with actual photography.
I was looking for the best way to photograph...
I asked the same question on photo.net then I figured it belongs here.
I recently got my first 8x10 and I was thinking about trying some high magnifica tion macro work with it. And then I read the...
Any of the cables without plastic should be fine.
Jan, in your experience, how much do you gain in latitude by pulling a stop? I like too shoot Astia. Speaking if Astia, anybody here knows what is it's latitude when processed normally. It seems to...
I am compensating for reuse (6:15 for 1st, 6:30 for 2nd and 6:45 for 3rd use) and they come out identical (150ml for a sheet). I do have the E6 pretty much under control. I've been doing it for a...
DK, yes I am using a Jobo CPE-2 rotary processor. It's a bit of a pain since I can develop only one sheet at a time, but it's much faster then sending it to a lab and I have full control. Much...
Thank you for all the advice you've given. For the record, I am shooting 8x10 color slide so I kind of have to keep the testing down due to the cost involved. I also do my own processing. Since...
