Magnificent, a picture with soul.
I have bought a Technika recently. It has a lens and correspondingly correct cam and infinity stops. I've noticed it is not accurate, Is it feasible for me to adjust it myself, I've noticed a screw...
Wow that must of been some party in the studio.
I'm thinking it's a later lens mounted in an older shutter, the front diameter is 8cm on the Symmar S another Schneider 210 I have is only 5cm and looks a lot older. Maybe the later will not fit.
...
I believe it to be a Super Tech V.
I have a 210mm f5.6 Symmar S on it, quiet old I should think as the shutter speeds are 1/50th, 1/100th etc.
I can't get it to align with the aperture in the rails...
Which lenses can I mount into a 5x7 Technika that I can leave in place with the camera folded?
Thanks,
Kevin.
Well if you see a Plaubel 5x7 monorail going, Grab it. Every bit as well engineered as a Linhof but often a fraction of the price. Just make sure the back takes standard DDS. Plaubel will still sell...
What problem are you trying solve? saving on film costs, weight, adaptability?
Shooting with a DSLR is a different experience than a LF.
A D800 will give you speed, weight and film cost gains over...
I believe there to be other practical problems to shooting traditional cameras plus a MFDB. Mostly the issue of focusing, ground glass screens and old gearing I understand to be a bit on the course...
I was at Linhof and Studio the other day, getting lens boards sorted for my 5x7. I asked if they still sold many new Technikas,
"not for sometime" was the reply.
I said "I suppose if one got...
I know I'm pointing out the obvious, but 5x8 is a lot different shape to 10x8 and if 5x8 will do why not 5x7. At least you can buy film off the shelf that fits without the problems of cutting in the...
Sergie,
I like this. Looking at your set on Flikr they all have that airbrushed look, do they spend a lot of time in Photoshop?
Kevin.
Well I put a screwdriver to it, everything felt tight but I gave it some anyway, now it's back together it's all nice and tight. Rock solid.
Kevin.
My 5x7 Technika is a little lose gripping the rails, not unusable, but not vice like. It looks like the sliding plate that moves to press against the rail has some play in it. Any suggestions on how...
Just did the 5x7 to 5x4 swop, very simple and quick when you know how. Happy bunny land at the moment, actually it's not as heavy as I thought it would be, I'm tempted to try a few shots from a...
Cheers.
Just paid £1500. for it. Also came with cammed 210 Symmar S and 7 5x7 DDS, it's in lovely condition. It has infinity stops for three other lenses as well, so would of been a nice setup....
Ok it's a limit thing. Here is the camera, can someone tell me the model of Technika please?
Kevin.
Pictures of the 5x4 back. I'm trying to upload pictures of the camera and 5x7 back but they will not load.
Kevin.
I'm actually thinking the 5x4 is not for this model, I can't see anything to undo, clip, slide etc.
Kevin.
Hi,
I have just purchased a Techinka 5x7, it also has 5x4 reduction back. I can't see an obvious way to swop the 5x7 for the 5x4. Not wanting to spoil this slightly minty example I thought I would...
I use a TS on a Canon handheld, I have to I'm in a helicopter. I drop the the lens about 8mm (24mm mkII) then shoot when the buildings and horizon look right. I've never done a side by side test, I...
Ok I know you will not be getting tilt shift, but I think 612 is a good choice. I had a Linhof 612 and two lenses, I sold them some time ago and I now wish I had not. There is rise built in or drop...
I have a razzle which never gets used. It sits between that rock and a hard place when I think about taking it out. If it's spontaneous shooting I want it for, well I'm better off taking a Rolleiflex...
Slow down for God sake, you shoot so many great images people are going to think it's easy!!
Kevin.
I particularly like this one if the bottom yellow is cropped.
I do like it as is. With the yellow cropped off I find it a restful abstract, two pictures in one.
Kevin.
Beautiful
I'm rebuilding my darkroom with the intention of shooting and printing B&W.
I have never really studied B&W in serious detail, where I worked many years ago it was either FP4 or HP5 souped
in deep...
That is so so nice
I noticed when walking around art galleries, they almost all are painted from a natural perspective. When I see a painting with say a closeup wide angle, or blurry background approach it looks like a...
I reckon they were nearer 8x6 for quite a lot.
I will check out the book, the one with the exhibition was not wonderful repro or I would of bought it.
Kevin.
No doubt lots have seen this exhibition already http://www.npg.org.uk/glamour/index.htm
Well worth the visit. Mostly quite small images which is fine, my only complaint is that the larger prints...
I am surprised there is not a simple ap where you program your lenses in. So you just select the lens and input the bellows length + anything else and get either a speed or aperture read out.
...
Is there an ap that you can add filter factor bellows extension etc to which gives you the adjusted exposure? The ones I have seen so far have lots of other stuff to wade through before you can just...
Yes but done well, I wish I had some pictures people thought looked like "Avedon" :-)
And yes how did you focus them, there must be a few watts of flash there.
Kevin.
I use a jobo drum on a wallpaper roller for ready pasted wallpaper and roll the drum with my hand, never had a problem.
Kevin.
The work of these early photographers is overlooked much to much, everyone knows the Adams, Westons etc but the work of someone like Emerson gets ignored. It's odd that the household names in...
I have been investigating 3D photography, I can see there being a demand as the public get 3D aware, it will be the next must have. There are a number of 3D sites around. The standard of content is...
I used my Razzle from an aircraft, I used double sided tape made tacky to hold the film, to be honest I thought the pictures I shot on the Pentax 67 were better in everyway. Then again my 1DsmkIII...
I have not always been convinced about my Photoshop straightening, yes I can put a grid over it that says everything is level and upright, it still looks odd sometimes to me, sorted of twisted. Is...
More a gentle blow with a hairdryer, to remove moisture from the neg and the glass.
