That's fantastic Paul.
I've not posted here in a while but been playing in the shed recently.

Yeah, but that would involve like speaking to someone man. :D
Thanks Max, very helpful.
Great thanks for letting me know.
Did anyone get one of these? Could you let me know what voltage the timer input is? Reason I ask is my work space only has a 12v battery and I'm looking for a solution which doesn't involve an...
Fixer stays in a bottle completely different from the developer bottles and isn't touched until development is stopped. Thankfully I've never had that issue but I've probably done everything else...
FP4 is as good a place to start as any, with its massive adjustments I'm unlikely to underexposed any way. Thanks.
No reason, I've got a box on its way and I do a lot of city night work so I...
Any one got any experience with compensation factors for the newer RPX 400 from Rollei (Ilford(?)) for long (>30s) exposures?
I bought a Yankee from ecbuyonline and it was a huge improvement over the original gg on my ancient arca but it had an accident in my pack with my 150 and broke.
What about a rubber sanding block for a handle?
I've got some lapping compound and a couple of cheap Ikea picture frames so I think I'll have a punt tonight. Even if it doesn't quite work its...
Would a drinking glass be flat enough? Just thinking back to my woodworking when we'd sharpen chisels with very fine sand paper glued to float glass less flat stuff caused issues.
Thats a good idea. Cutting glass can't be that hard.
Any one think of a good (cheap) source for the thicker tool glass?
Nice walk through. I'd been going to make a perspex screen for a project I'm working on but actually I might just try a proper one. Need to find the time to get down to the local glass supplier...
One of Ben Lui in the South West Highlands, had a lovely walk in (in the dark) and stopped here on the way back for my breakfast.
...
On their kick-starter page.
Looks like they've gone for inversion now instead of the plunger. I'm more interested now and I've got some Christmas money to spend...
Good shout.
I just hung up the negatives from the other side of the holder from the ones above and I'm still stumped. I inversion processed these in obsidian Aqua as I've been doing all year and though I'm still...
Good shout, will do.
There is always the fall back of stand developing in Rodinal, It probably won't get the best from the negative but you'll get something scan-able. If wet printing maybe not.
That could be a good shout, it wouldn't take much stray chemical to do some damage.
Its an old Arca Swiss B.
I think I'm going to have to go through the rest of the sheets from that morning...
I was trying a new developer so I did both individually to be safe.
I think they're artefacts from the light box it's not very good and even in the corners.
No, but I think that just...
First up I'm not sure this is in the right place....
These two negatives were made on the same day in the same camera but with different lenses and film holders. They were developed a few weeks...
Fabulous as ever gents.
Fairly sure it can't be, the opening at the rear where the bellows meet is only 4 inches square. Isn't quarter plate 4.25 inches?
I've had a prod and its held on with a nut and bolt the same size and thread as a standard tripod mount. I've removed it just now and the QR plate for my tripod fits fine so thats one less problem. ...
Ah, would it have run on a circular race?
Thanks Jon
Yeah its a weird one, its almost a box camera but it doesn't have a shutter and can be focused. I'm guessing it pre-dates faster emulsions and would have used a hat for a shutter.
I picked this up as a bit of winter project. Its missing the back or any film holders so I'm going to have to work something out there and the bellows are terminally moth eaten but I've been thinking...
I looked at this before reading the caption and thought that looks like home. :)
That's fantastic Alasdair, Do you work/volunteer at the yard?
The easy, expensive, option is to use Fuji films, Acros and Provia both have exceptional reciprocity response and need very little adjustment for very long exposures.
Alternatively you can not...
Stand developing in Rodinal 1+100 is my usual answer to this kind of question, I've used it on some pretty questionable material and got an image; 60 minutes at room temperatures, continual agitation...
Alasdair, very nice.
Thanks, I'll give that a try.
Very nice Lucas and Issac. The colour in these look fantastic, when ever I try night shots in colour the white balance ends up all over the place. How much do you give Portra for reciprocity?
Warm tasty beer or alcoholic tap water lightly chilled... Toughy....
;)
Its the "its bigger on the inside" reaction.
Why? Android has a bigger user base than iOS by some considerable margin.
For that much desired peace and quiet, turn on Airplane mode then re-enable bluetooth.
Oh yeah, I remember getting swarmed at Milford by those buggers!
Midges, billions of the little buggers. You kill one and a hundred thousand attend its funeral!
Many a good holiday, photograph, walk, cycle trip ruined by midges.
