I don’t think I’ve missed a second exposure is 45 plus years of using a view camera, whether it’s 4x5 or 8x20.
No offense, but what’s a minimum number? It might be zero or it might be ten.
Practice...
I’d consider the advice of Gudmundur Ingolfsson, but I’d take the largest camera from which you want a negative. Fred Picker took his 4x5 around the perimeter of Iceland. I have a number of Dick...
Wonderful! Love to see the contact print in person.
Just a couple?
Long ago & far away when I lived in Florida, Phil & I spent the morning (& afternoon) testing Xtol on every Kodak & Ilford film we could find. While walking out of the darkroom towards dinner, he...
Any Peak model (there were three as I recall) is better than the rest. You won’t regret the investment.
Not knowing what movements OP needs, the people behind the 75mm Hypergon have a short focus ‘quick shot’ camera supporting ultra wides on 8x10: the eco810ss.

That curve pretty well supports Paul’s observations. There is no straight line anywhere. Compare a Tri-X curve:
Just received notice my order arrived today.
That’s is an interesting design. What is the pro upgrade kit?
I’ve had both USPS and UPS lose high end audio equipment I sold. Both paid the value of the equipment after a brief, usually 3-4 weeks, investigation. What *&@#+ would ship a $5000 piece of equipment...

Edmunds makes optic components and has an opinion on cleaning. You may find this helpful:

Great idea Peter; thanks!
Beyond acceptable; Adam is truly extraordinary, IMHO. I began using Steve in the early 90s and since that time their craftsmanship has never wavered.
Mike
In the off chance you had not noticed, the ordering period is now open.
Mods: if you feel this belongs elsewhere, please move it. Thanks.

Big.
If you are in Ft. Worth, the Amon Carter Museum, who commissioned the American West Portraits, is honoring the centennial of Avedon's birth by mounting 13 of his portraits again; they will...
Thanks for the advice; I was wondering how to deal with my sticky darkcloths and changing tent. I don't recall ever getting any instructions, but hey, like Apple, I figured out how to use them.
I used one of these for my Ritter 20x24. Worked great.

While you can always find them for less...
Like Michael, that has not been my experience with them. I send the frames and spec the shape, length, and material; they do the rest. I encourage a conversation, telephonically for via email, to see...
If you are two or less (and use nothing bigger than 4x5 :-) ) you may consider one of these.

They are quite nice and a good size. As I recall most of the wildly...
As I recall Joe Englander used to drive a Chevy 2500 with a "collapsible" slide-in camper shell.
I had a Mercedes Sprinter I camped in. Plenty of room. lots of power to go anywhere. Decent...
I cut 6x10 & 5x8 like this for years. As Keith says, just get it set up & working in the daylight & then have a routine for cutting in the dark. I use scissors to nick the end of the "new,...
Agreed; Folmer did not make an 8x20; they made 12x20 & a 7x17 reducing back. They were limited by short bellows, but are much higher quality construction than a Korona.
The Koronas used to have...
Dick built two 14x17 cameras and several 8x20. As Oren pointed out, the Explorer backs are fixed in landscape orientation and are not removable.

11x14 is an ANSI standard. Richard's holders have been interchangeable with the Fidelity holders I have, as well as holders I have purchased from Pierre & Filip. Older wooden holders may have been...
Its been my experience stability is not totally dependent on the camera*. The format and tripod weigh in mightily. Consider what we are using is basically a “box” the size of our format. A 4x5 is a...
Sounds like a great plan Randy.

Randy:
You may want to review Richard Ritter's page on dimensions as well.:

Good luck.
Mike
I'll say it since everyone seems to be dancing around it: Richard Ritter makes films holders for ULF cameras. I have several and they're great.
Mike
14x17 holders should not vary. There is an ANSi standard for them and that is a familiar size in the medical community.Of course, "should" is the operative word...

You're showing your age with this one... :-)

As Jim pointed out, if its Chloride paper it may be just fine (or great). The box will tell if it is for contact pricing or projection printing. If it says contact, treat it as if it is good paper...
Carol at Flutot's has been my go to for the last few years for both Copal & Ilex 5s.

I purchased several ULF film holders from Filip. His workmanship is first rate and the pricing reasonable. I'd purchase from him again.
Most older backs can be modified to take any holder. 14x17...
This is the key; a factory mounted in shutter lens is not necessary the same critter as the process lens. The mounts for the lens elements are sometimes different due to the requirements of mounting...
Nope, no mis-type. It was a Kodak Wide Field Copy lens 18" and f16 max aperture. Adam at SK Grimes mounted in a copal 3. The 10" wide field Ektar is f6.3 and in an Ilex 5.

I can only speak from my experiences, and notwithstanding factory mounted process lenses, let me assure you fitting a barrel lens into a shutter and directly screwing its elements into a shutter are...
That has not been my experience except with G-Clarons. While I have been told some Doctor Optic and Kowas are direct screw in to modern Copal shutters (and these are scare lenses), and assuming we...

As a general rule, yes. Your run of the mill Artars (red dot or not), Ronars, Browns, etc are standard fare for many 8x10 and up format users. I have at least three I use regularly with no...
