    I believe that number is just the part number of the particular plate. The s/n is usually stamped in the wood on the rear standard. sometimes it is hard to find, but it is there.

    High wind is where a Graflex excells. Grafmatics make it easier too. A Super D gives you auto diaphram; a older model, an Auto Graflex, gives you a rising lens board.

    From the rear, tilt the bottom of the rear standard forward. On the left top of the yoke that the front standard pivots on, you should see a six digit number. It is a Graflex s/n.
