Hello all. I want to start developing my own stuff again; and I’ve managed to get a jobo rotary processor for not very much....

Hence I could do with recommendations on two things:

Re: Processing kit - jobo etc?

Thanks Brad.... Had a look on ebay but none there.... I do like the idea of the motorised one. When I was out in the US I knew a few people that used them for LF work. Also good as don't have to be...

    Processing kit - jobo etc?

    Morning all....

I got a LF camera at the end of last year and have shot a little bit with it, though this has only been with Polaroid so far for two reasons:
    1) instant feedback for changes to...

    scanning polaroid positives....

Hello all... I don't suppose I can get much help with this, but I'll try anyway..

I've just been shooting tonight with Polaroid Type 52 - I wanted to check out some lighting, and my friend wanted...

Re: Why do you use a pseudonym?

I use one as I don't want people to search for my name for work-related areas, and find naked models.

    T Blair.

Only joking (the name that is), but the reason is true.

Re: Edward Weston? What am I missing?

I recently saw a platinum print of Weston's, I believe it was of a cabbage or something similar, at the MOMA. I have no idea how to make a cabbage so amazing to look at, or what drove him to do that....

Good idea Frank... I would like that, as a naive newbie..
  13. Re: *yawn* yet another newbie, though i ask more stupid questions

right i get you... so it's not the fact that they use more light per se, it's just that inherently they have a much shallow dof. Hence, to increase it, it obviously requires more light when stopping...
  14. Re: *yawn* yet another newbie, though i ask more stupid questions

Please tell me more Ron.... I've got a strobe and will get another eventually.... I take it that they are compatable with PC cords?
  15. Re: *yawn* yet another newbie, though i ask more stupid questions

Really? All I see in their pics is a load of overly-softened digital haze... Perhaps i'm misguided or just plain wrong.

Thanks for the advice everyone though...
  16. Re: *yawn* yet another newbie, though i ask more stupid questions

Thanks Frank, you took the question about focal length right out of my mouth (or rather, snatched it from my fingers).

I know polaroids are expensive - I'd certainly want to get used to the...
  17. Re: *yawn* yet another newbie, though i ask more stupid questions

Cheers Frank. Actually spoke to you this week on another site (MM)...

Will have to look at tripods. Got a Manfroto at the moment so I guess that won't take the strain.

PM'd you... would welcome the opinion of others, as invited!

Ralph - thanks. I'll have a better look when I'm not at work :-)

    Re: Another newbie

Not that I'm aware of.... I think I'd prefer to be mailing myself back home - it will happen soon, though preferably on a reputable carrier and in a seat, rather than in a box.
  20. Re: *yawn* yet another newbie, though i ask more stupid questions

Ah sorry.... Well i'm interested in shooting outdoors but not necessarily with the LF.

I think therefore that I'd prefer to be doing indoor work with it - probably portraits & Nudes. I hope that...
