I carry a Crown Graphic around in a Domke F6. Not quite a satchel, but it works well. There's enough room for a grafmatic or a few holders, and a small lens or two.

For folks who may be wondering how Lodima develops in Ilford Multigrade, I tested this combo tonight and it seemed to work nicely, without any odd color shift that I could see.
I developed in 1+9...
How are you all scanning your contact prints? I find that they lose quite a lot of resolution & detail, when scanned as a b&w document with a v700.
Did you add exposure for reciprocity failure?
This is a good write-up:

Boinzo: developing longer will push the highlights up and have little effect on the shadows. The shadows are basically set by the exposure. The bible for understanding this is The Negative by Ansel...

Thanks for all the hard work getting the site back!
I'm trying to find a source of Amidol (most probably the English stuff) who will ship to Australia.
Artcraft in the US will not ship it overseas.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks for the responses. It seems that there are good arguments for diluting with water, and apparently none for diluting with HCA.
I've read a lot of differing opinion on this issue, without finding a simple answer.
Is there a consensus on diluting selenium toner in water vs. HCA/Washaid ?

I wonder if it could be the film holder. I've seen similar from one of my grafmatics.
Noah: within a week, in my experience.
I recommend Australia Post "Express Courier International", which provides online tracking, signature delivery, and optional insurance.
adamc: Nice setup -- I need to convince my wife to let me build something like that in the garage.
K: was that hand-held?
The only lens I have for 8x10 is a Nikkor 300/f9. I like wider lenses because I can get more context into the shot, or get closer to the subject. For a tighter shot, I use a bellows extension of...

Depends exactly what kind of camera, size of lenses etc.
Measure the camera when folded & see if it will fit against the specifications.
My experience is that I can easily get an 8x10 arca...
Something to also consider in your budget is lighting for studio fashion work. When you move to LF, you'll need to consider stopping down to f22 for 4x5 and f32-45 for 8x10 to get the necessary DOF....

I just bought the BP, too (for an 8x10), and I suspect the lash down tabs are the square plastic things on the top front. Probably better to tie it to the side somehow, or carry by hand.
Yes, 5x7 is excellent for contact prints. 4x5 is not quite up to it for most people.
What you could do is buy a 5x7 camera which can take a 4x5 back. Some cameras are actually the same for 5x7...
You won't know if you like LF or not until you shoot it for a while. It will change the way you shoot.

Just get the Linhof, see if you like it, and if...
John: thanks. I don't think that will work for the arca with the function carrier attached -- I need more like 15.8 inches for the height. It seems that the BP with a single compartment will work.
Could someone with an f64 BPX tell me the internal dimensions of the lower compartment? The info doesn't seem to be listed anywhere, and I need to know if I can get an arca 8x10 in there (need 34 cm...
