    Re: Custom Bellows UK

I've also used Custom Bellows (for an 11x14) and they did a great job, were very quick, explained all the customs info to make sure no duty got charged, etc. I'd highly recommend them.

Re: Portrait lens on a Speed Graphic 4x5?

If you get one like the one I've got listed, you can use the focal plane shutter and just pick up barrel lenses. Depending on what you want, you can get some of those pretty cheaply and it opens up...

Re: B&L Cinephor petzval - aperture?

Actually, a lot of the Cinephors have a 'reducing' ring inside the barrel. If you have one, you need to use the inside diameter of THAT for your calculation, not the glass. If you can get it out,...

    Re: June 2012 Portraits

The one Scott is using was made by Grubb when he was still in Dublin, too, JB... You need one like that, pre-London. I really like the pix on your website, especially the 'exteriors' section.

Re: An old brassie stereopticon lens

Should be a petzval then. The elements are often installed incorrectly, so you might want to check Dan's site and check the layout of the glass elements.

Re: An old brassie stereopticon lens

Re: An old brassie stereopticon lens

If it only has 2 pieces of glass, it isn't a petzval or a triplet as both have 3 pieces of glass. You may have only a partial lens and might need to focus at infinity to see if you really have a...
  19. Re: New to LF, seeking advice on antique 8x10

  22. Re: finding out the focal length when focussed closer than infinity...

    John,

  23. Re: Mthod(s) to delete FS ads when the item(s) sell

On APUG, which I think uses the same software, you can 'close the thread' when the item is sold. Here on LFPF, the mods have that disabled, so the person posting the ad can't close it to further...

    Re: Another swirly lens question....

A 7" B&L probably has an internal ring inside to make it slower, so you might check the f3.5. But a 7" petzval should have a max image circle of ~ 7" as well. The diameter of a 5x7 piece of film is...
