  1. Re: Is a 300mm lense a use focal length for 4x5???

450 mm is at least my second most often, and perhaps most often used, lens on 4X5. I use the 300 mm quite a bit, too.

Re: Where To Get 4x5 E-6 Developed

I enthusiatically second AgX Imaging. I have been very happy with the high quality and communication from Mike, and the processing is an exceptional value.
  5. Re: Schneider lens defects, 800mm and 110mm XL

Does this mean that it does not affect the image quality? I'm not implying that Shcneider shouldn't care or currect the situation, just curious as to the effect on usability. I have a 110 XL that...

    Re: drawn to 6x17 format

If you really want to get into the 6X17 format, I would highly recommend buying a dedicated camera, rather than stitching. It is much easier to get into the panoramic mindset that way, and there are...
  7. Re: Schneider lens defects, 800mm and 110mm XL

Does this issue affect the usability of the lens? I thought that Scneideritis was just a cosmetic issue, the lens works just as well as one without it, although the resale value is quite a bit...

Re: Harvesting olives in Caifornia 2012

  10. Re: Cleaning underside o glass in Epson V700 scanner?

I cleaned the haze off of the undersinde of the glass on my 4990 a few months ago. It wasn't hard, but took some time and was a bit tedious to get back together. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to...

Re: What are the 8x10 all-stars?

My most used on 8X10 are an Apo-Sironar-S 300 and a Fujinon-C 450. I actually use the 450 Fuji for about 75% of the 8X10 (and 4X10 with half darkslide) that I shoot...

    Re: Fuji velvia 50 handling

I've used LF Velvia for over a decade and have never frozen or refrigerated it. I've used it at least 2 years past expiration, with no noticable difference in quality. I would not bother to freeze...

    Cleaning water damaged film

  19. Re: Caltar-S II 210mm vs. Fujinon-W 210mm

Never used a Fujinon 210, but I have the Caltar II-S 210, and it's the sharpest lens in my collection. Even sharper than the Apo-Sironar S 150 and SS-XL 110. Bought it for about $200 on E-bay, by...

  21. Re: Why LF doesn't seem to be working for me

LF is not for everyone. There's nothing wrong with using whatever camera best fits your vision, be it 12X20, 8X10, 4X5, MF, or digital SLR.
  22. Re: Extreme photographer captures aurora borealis

Give me a break- medium format is considered extreme? And how is a single "shot" costing $35, unless this guy takes three or four rolls of each "shot"?

Re: Reducing Backs in Practical Use

I've used my 4X5 back quite a few times on my 8X10, but I mainly use the 8X10 to shoot 4X10 with the half-darkslide method. Shooting color, I'm more of a 4X5 guy and rarely shoot a whole sheet of...

  36. Re: Oceano Dunes Get Together In Honor of Per Volquartz
