Search:

Focus should not be too difficult due to the long focal length and larger format (thus ground glass) of the camera that should be paired with this monster.

My Fujinon 600C and 600A lenses work...

This is a very long lens, but not a telephoto design lens (so more than 1m of bellows is required!) Would be great for uber large formats! ;)

Please also note that at closer focus distances, the image circle increases in size.
Normal portrait distances and 4x5 should not be a problem (assuming no movements).

This is a fantastic wide open lens for b&w portraits, hope you enjoy it!

I have version #3... wide open at f/3.5 it is a very sharp lens, even when adapted to fit my Nikon D3 :)

I have a Fujinon 600A Lens and the front and rear lens cap sizes are NOT the same... the front plastic cap is 100mm and the rear plastic cap is 95mm. Unfortunately I have lost my rear cap... does...

The sizes are almost ALL identical. The distribution is fairly even but not entirely so... which makes the whole thing resemble the stuff that grows on petri dishes in the labs of Biology class past...

Help.. I just got a few sheets of Velvia 100 8x10 back from the lab with tiny RED SPOTS all over the image! (size is much larger than typical film grain, but small enough to be discreet to the naked...

I have both the Nikkor W 100mm and Nikkor W 105mm lenses.

The 105mm W is much more common, covering 4x5 and was part of the modern Nikon catalogue up and until they discontinued all their LF...

180mm sounds about right to me... I should measure it exactly one of these weekends...

Older samples will have a five bladed aperture in the copal 0 shutter, where as newer ones will have a seven blades (marked "(s)")

as far as I know the glass is the same...

This (discontinued) lens needs a 95mm slip-on size... I have found the 95mm screw-on size to be equivalent to the 100mm slip-on cap size but this one is just a bit smaller :(

I've found 100mm, 90mm but no 95mm lens caps from any maker, anywhere!
I've tried the 95mm hassleblad pinch on cap but it actually corresponds to the 100mm large format size :(

Any suggestions...

Have you considered the Fujinon A 600mm or Fujinon C 600mm?
The A covers about the same as the XXL, while the C is extremely light for its coverage :)

I have the later T* version of the 135mm Zeiss f/3.5 Planar and I have seen the Xenotar as well. These lenses are not even close... the Xenotar barely covers 4x5 and is soft wide open. The Zeiss...

I have the 210mm SSXL and it is one HUGE lens, with a metal(!) front cap. Like the other SSXL lenses the front element is much bigger and heavier than the rear (unlike say, the symmetrical Nikon...

This lens appears to be normal in all respects, so I believe the "D" is for "Demo".
The red "D" is engraved in a similar font to the rest of the lettering.
