Add me to the indirect rise camp. I use it often with a Horseman 45FA which I believe has even less built-in rise than a Toyo. It really is a simple procedure and doesn't add much time to the...

Beautiful photographs Kirk—congratulations!
What if you made it fixed-focus? Does it really need the helical? If you set it to focus at a predetermined, or maybe hyperfocal distance for more depth of focus, you would at least know where you...
The Art Institute of Chicago has put on a retrospective show of Abelardo Morell's work from the last 25 years. It runs until September, 2 in both the downstairs and New Wing photo galleries. It will...

Enjoy your life, you've done well here!
Beat-up 50mm lens from a 35mm camera. Look through the rear of the lens—makes a great magnifier or loupe.
I suggest looking at the early 20th century British photographer Frederick Evans. He can be easily googled, but if you ever have the chance to see his original platinum prints, do whatever it takes...
Cool—good luck!
I suggest that you sign up with the Imaconusers group on Yahoo. It is a very knowledgeable group that is happy to assist in any way they can—sort of like here only with less activity....
The Precision II has about a 13x14" footprint. I use mine with an older iMac on a table that is 22"x34"—it's a bit tight, but works OK.
I use that set-up and it works just fine. The lens has a groove between the lens barrel and the retaining ring that secures the glass, and the Lee adapter fits in that groove. No problems!
I'm glad I'm going to Barcelona in about 2 weeks and won't be anywhere near Denmark.....
I recently flew from Chicago to Los Angeles, LA to Portland, Oregon, and then back home to Chicago. At LAX the TSA decided to take a close look at my backpack with LF gear in it (this rarely happens...
4x5 Sinar Norma, 110mm Super Symmar, FP4+/Pyrocat, Lit with a Calumet Travelight strobe bounced in an umbrella and a bit of window light
Yes, as are the bellows. I use an extended Horseman bellows on my Norma.
Nitrile gloves are more chemical resistant than latex, and non-allergenic. Get them powderless.
I have a Noblex and use the same lenses as for 4x5—135 or 150mm.
Not large format, but every time I look at his work I am awe-struck— http://www.fazalsheikh.org/
Just wanted to share.
I did this many years ago with 35mm negatives printed about 3/4 inch across. They were matted and I hung them and provided magnifiers for viewing. Hey, I was 22......
I have never had anything remotely bad happen to me when photographing. I work primarily in urban areas, some of which do not have the best of reputations. The people I have encountered have been...
40x50 inches They look smaller, but it was a BIG space
Inkjet prints from scanned 4x5 FP4+ negatives
Not roadkill, but when I was in high school I worked at a natural history museum that has/had one of the largest collections of Passenger Pigeons. They were neatly arrayed in drawers in the attic....
I haven't measured it thickness, but I think Formica (or another brand) might work. It is thin, rigid, and not works much like wood. It would need to be tested however to make sure it is opaque. It...

Jac, thanks for the llnk. It turns out that Copal makes an angled cable release socket—who would have thought? I have a call in with C.R.I.S. Camera who I have been told is likely to have these.
The color of darkroom prints is determined by the paper, developer, and any toning you might do. The color of the negative is irrelevant.
I have a Linhof recessed lens board with an older Quick Socket connector, a white one. It does not have any of the required doodads to make it work. Are these parts still available, and if so where?...
Ari,
While you are checking things, I suggest that you make sure that your front and rear standards are parallel. It could be that you are introducing some unwanted tilt or swing.
I remember seeing photos of that—it was quite impressive to say the least. What was it, something like a 2500mm f/2?
Will, you beat me to it!
+1
I also find that doing some simple exercises like squats and/or stretching helps. It gets the blood flowing and perks up my brain.
LFN is Edwal's take on photolo. I too think it's a superior product.

I have the book , but a link to a website is a bit easier—Plant Kingdoms by Charles Jones: http://www.michaelhoppengallery.com/artist,show,1,171,0,0,0,0,0,0,charles_jones.html
Sal knows what he is talking about, there are not many lenses that you can keep on the camera and fold it up. I have an FA and don't fold it with lenses mounted. Why is that so important? It only...

Thanks everyone! It was a bit of fun being the only large format photographer at the time—it seemed as if almost as many photos of me were taken as of the fire...
My sample is pretty small only having done this once. In my case everything was a direct fit. I tested the corners, using the maximum rise and fall on my Norma, and see no softness. I scanned the...
A large unoccupied warehouse in Chicago caught on fire Tuesday and I went there yesterday to see what was going on. At one point there were 200 fire fighters involved—when I got there they were down...
