i'm up in auckland,
i work at kingsize studios. we've got a couple 4x5's for rent and i've got a sinar P myself
there are a few places..not many, but a few that have the gear
this sounds great robert! i will be applying as soon as it is made available
definitely interested, keen to learn more. so let us know when the website is up
(also, culprit. well said)
i had 10 sheets earlier this year,
all gone. and most of it didn't really work too well.
was heavily affected by different light sources/more so than the e6 that i normally shoot on.
wish i...
i forget if this was mentioned in here..
check out www.aphotostudent.com - James Pomerantz is documenting his days as an MFA student at SVA NY
I'm still here- didn't realise people were still posting in this thread until I got sent a PM.
I've been working down a list of schools I can apply for in the coming weeks.
I've checked out...
if you're only looking for just a bit of highlighting, a mirror would be perfect- assuming reflectors aren't giving you enough
LED brick lights don't give nearly as much kick as you think they will..
fantastic upclose. but don't bother for anything else. esp. in daylight
..you're going to need a lot of kick to light your models at full daylight. You should work backwards, start with what kind of power source do you have? they draw alot of power, i'm not sure what...

the only thing that dropped in was my sync cable
thanks!
i've got the one with levers- and the lower legs unscrew and drop out. if that makes sense?
i'll google how to strip it in a second, but does anyone have suggestions?
i have a feeling...
i've just been to the beach taking photos-
the feet of the tripod got pretty sandy, was wondering if there's a good way to clean it out?
i figured compressed air and just a good rub down with a...
cs4 was released far to early with such little changes.. (and i feel what did change was pretty useless. not to mention annoying having your histograms for levels already inset in an adjustment box)....
..the lab down here charges $180NZD for a 30x45... (although 75 for students)
..are you sure?
go cs3, skip cs4. and wait it out for cs5
Auckland
Kevin Church does the 1500, otherwise it's pretty much labtec
in new zealand, the largest I can print here is 1500mm wide off a roll-
i'm looking for something bigger than this..
does anyone know of any labs in the world that do lightjet/chromira prints...
..so you think they'd be under 'loupes and viewing aids'.
while i'm here and we're discussing viewing aids-
is there much difference between using a cheap loupe to an expencive one? at the...
i just think $1800 or so that they have on B&H is a little steep. you could set yourself up from scratch pretty well with that
probably only complaining because i want one
i assume these are lights already on location,
but if for some reason they're not. and you're bringing them in. you should try using kino's. standard sizes are 2 or 4 bank, and 2or 4ft long....
still don't understand why they're so ridiculously expencive
film/video ones are so much cheaper and they seem to do so much more aswell.
this is the link it went to:

thanks for your help guys
(this might be a dumb question..)
but what size lens board will it fit into?
there's one up on uk ebay right now
although the user only has stock images (is that standard? seems dodgy), free p&p and is a first time seller.
is there a big difference between the old and new...
I was photographing some artwork recently and noticed swing/tilt slightly off. my camera is over 20 years old and i don't think it's been serviced in that time-
I feel relatively confident...

i was underexposed by a stop.
20, /started 2 years ago.
and as of today i have been signed with a gallery!
precisely what john said.
i know it'll be alot of money. if i can get scholarships, the better-
but i'm not wanting to teach after. if it is a means for money, then sure i wil have a crack at it....
i must have something completely different-
just running numbers through photoshop
i get 300mmx 170mm @ 2040ppi is equivalent to 2040 x 1171 @ 300dpi
besides some printers not being able to...
there seems to be this giant split with reasons to get MFA's. for me, i'm in it for the experience. to work under someone i admire. and just to be in the location of where it's all going down.
i...

i dont' know what you're lighting exactly. but like spiky said, dedo kits are pretty good.
although they don't have alot of power behind them.
if you want to look into film lights a little more...
i feel this is getting out of hand. at the same time, i like the debate going on.
regardless, thankyou for all your recommendations. (and thankyou to those who have sent me emails re: yale.)
if...
right now, at 300dpi 8bit (from the mock i did earlier) i have a print that is 1000mm x 1700mm. so i don't see why i would scan it smaller?
thankyou everyone for your recommendations.
if we disregard money for a moment, i'm surprised noone else has mentioned anything about yale? rather. just from people who have finished their masters...
if i could, i would've photographed it in one shot. but i didn't have enough lights to do so
nor did i want to pull a bigger generator.
i already had a 25kva on the day. and that was a mission to...
hm let me try this again,
i've taken a photograph in 8 sections.
each section will be a combination of 2 photographs. making it a total of 16 photographs in total.
16 5x4 scans at 2040ppi,...
I'm not sure if this is the right place to start the thread..
I'm finishing up my BFA with hon. at Elam School of Fine Arts in New Zealand and i'm looking to do my masters (fine arts) overseas.
...
I've come to a bit of a hault when editing one of my photos..
Overall i've got 8 x 5x4 scans off an imacon at 16bit which are roughly 1.8gb each. and i need to compose them together but the...
