Need to get the rise/fall lever on my Technika V fixed (early version - plastic lever).
Is Marflex still in business? A google search was inconclusive...I saw a web page were Krikor indicated...
Graphic View II. Be sure to get the II.
Make sure it comes with its folding viewing hood and tripod mount.
Try Hollinger Metal Edge

Be sure to search the archives about problems with Light Impressions before doing business with them.

Foma 100 film and MG131 paper is a beautiful combination for contact printing.
For a paper developer I normally use Ansco130 or D-55. After the second fix I give it a quick dunk in 1+20 KRST -...
Efke 100 in Diafine looks OK-ish rated at up to EI200, but at EI320 you're gonna have some pretty empty shadows.
Better than nothing, though - you might like the effect.
I don't know of any...
I must be missing something here (wouldn't be the first time).
What's the benefit of the divided development? As opposed to mixing sol'ns A and B together then developing in one step...

Kevin,
I think you're referring to the Seagull FB VC Warmtone. It was changed sometime in the last year or two to be warmer.
As far as I know, the normal VC FB paper is still neutral or...
Keith,
If you google "depth fo field", you will find several on-line calculators.
Better yet, you can also find the governing equations themselves as well as guidelines for which circle of...
Hmm...I rather liked Agee's prose in the book. Intrigued, I went on to read A Death in the Family and thought it to be quite a powerfully written short novel. Very Faulkner-esque.
As for...
Jim,
How did you get in touch with Ilford? I had the same problem with a batch of HP5+ several months ago, but gave up trying to contact them after several calls went unanswered and unreturned.

I've shot about a hundred sheets of Fomapan 100 so far, and here are my thoughts.
I agree with the others about the contrast. Using pyrocat M at 1+1+100, I find that I need to rate the film at no...
Marco,
Yes, I use my Technika V handheld with the optional sidegrip.
Mine is cammed for a f=150mm lens and I find the rangefinder to be extremely accurate.
I initially used a Linhof sports...

I've recently been given a mother lode of old family negatives (that had literally been stored in old cookie tins for the past 60-70 years) for the purpose of printing and archiving. There are...
Tom,
What you have there are Jobo 2501 reels. They are adustable for 35mm or 120.
They are intended to be used with a 2505 loader. I sold one on eBay a few months ago. Here's a picture.
I...
It's time to re-stock my supply of darkroom chemicals, and I'm having trouble accessing the website of Artcraft Chemicals.
Anyone know if they're still in business?
Scott
...forgot to mention:
For this combination, I find I need to rate the film no higher than EI50 to get satisfactory shadow detail.
Scott
You will find the development times rather short.
With constant rotation at 70 degF in Pyrocat 1+2+100, my negs come out about right after 6-7 minutes for Grade 2 silver paper, for a roughly N...
Hellow Paul.
Whereabouts in Ohio are you? I'm about 30 miles north of Cincinnati.
Scott
Arne,
I use a 1340 and Arca Swiss B1 with a Technika V and it's PLENTY stable.
Scott
They are no longer made, so you won't find any new ones.
Lots of used ones around, however. You might try MPEX.
They pop up here every so often, and there are always lots of them on eBay. You...
I live at 39N latitude and this is my favorite time of the year for photography. As much as I appreciate the chromatic brilliance of the foliage, that is not what excites me. It is simply the light....
I would use a local post-flash. I normally just use the enlarger with the neg removed instead of a flashlight.
Use test strips to determine the amount of exposure required to raise the threshold...
My experience with the Arista brand of Fomapan 100 is similar. Even if I rate it at 50, I need to place shadows at zone IV to preserve detail. This is for 4x5 sheets developed in Pyrocat M 1+1+100...
Bethe,
Welcome to the forum. I'm very familiar with SW PA. I think you'll like it there.
I just left a PM as well.
Scott
John,
That is an incredible photograph.
Scott
Like Ian said, the 90 (or 75) almost certainly won't cover 8x10, but it makes for an interesting - almost fisheye - effect.
Check out the work of Emmit Gowin for examples of this. I think he used...
John, I happen to have some of the Arista Classic Graded paper (rebranded Galerie) and some recent Emaks. The papers are very similar in tone, with the Emaks being maybe a wee tiny bit warmer. This...
In my experience, the Kentmere Bromide is significantly cooler than Galerie. To my eye, Galerie is just on the warm side of neutral in most developers.
And as mentioned above, the price of Galerie...
I don't own a scanner, so I tried using a flatbed at work to scan my print so that I could upload it. No luck...the large expanse of deep black in my print drove the scanner crazy and I could NOT get...
That's right. It hooks over the end of the cable release and pushes down the plunger to release the shutter. I'll attach the instructions so you can see how it works.
Do a search on ebay for "autoknips".
Like you said, it's a mechanical timer with a plunger that fits onto the end of your cable release.
I have the version II and it works fine.

If you haven't checked on Abelardo's work recently, his website is worth a visit.

His camera obsucura work is growing a bit stale on me, but the...
My Tech V closes up just fine with a 150 Symmar on a flat lensboard. Not a Prontor shutter, though. My shutter's labeled Linhof, but I suspect it's a Compur.
I use the left-hand grip and...
Dearest Mr. Lungre-Thurd,
I for one am most pleased to have you grace the forum once again.
Things 'been a little too stiff-lipped around here the past coupla years.
Scott
Mark,
It just so happens I did this last night quite by accident.
I was messing around while toning some prints and got the results you are seeking.
Here are the details:
Paper was MC111,...
Andrew, I'd like to participate again. I was pleased with the last exchange.
Scott Whitford
SKphoto, I feel your pain. MC111 dev'd in Ansco 130 is/was my favorite combo for many subjects. Awesome color and richness without any toning. Perfect.
Actually, Freestyle still has the paper in...
