Agreed. I use 1500/ f which is slightly more conservative. Regardless, I can't see any good reason for scanning f64 beyond 1200 or 1500 dpi (2x the image resolution) because there isn't any more...

Maybe at 4x or 5x, but if you can't distinguish the difference between f22 and f45 at a 10x enlargement then there is something wrong with your system.

Did you replace the drum pads?

Does the bearing sound smooth as it spins?

Also, f32 is a perfectly appropriate aperture for a 90mm lens with a good deal of rise. You could probably get away with f22 but f11 would really be pushing it in terms of aberrations in the corners...

I was set up all over the place. I'd find spots that were blocked to foot traffic such as between a trashcan and a newspaper dispenser or set my tripod half in fenced off planters.
