Don't forget overcast days too. The artificial lighting bounces off the cloud cover illuminating everything, and decreasing contrast somewhat- always good with colour.

From this autumn. Like the immersive feel.

Here is one on a riverbank.
Mark, would you be willing to do something on the august 18 or 19? I will be leaving the island again around the 20th.
I am vacationing/working here on Vancouver Island for a few more weeks. Staying at Cowichan Bay. I remember seeing some posters from Victoria here and I was wondering if we could go somewhere nice...
Here is a favourite. My first self developed and contact printed 4x5 that turned out decent. Plus of trees. I don't think I can live anywhere that does not have trees. Shot with a digital camera...
Hello. Added a pricing page today. Does it seem reasonable?
I guess the hyperlink didn't work. I guess you are just going to have to cut and paste. Oh! The Agony!
Since websites seem to be all the craze. I am working on one. Got the gallery coding part done but not much else. So here is it.

I usually dustbust at 100% whatever I see. I miss stuff of course because dust hides especially in the detailed areas (which are harder to fix) but as you don't notice them, it does not matter.
If we ever understood art, who would need us humans?
We would go the way of the dodo to be replaced by perfect selfrepairing robots.
Is there anything else to shoot? Honestly? Didn't think so. :)
This is more of a general query on photgraphy in general:
Do you find that you have to be in a certain 'mood' to go out and see and take pictures that mean something to you or is it just me being...
5-20 for me. Of course I am not very experienced yet and thus my standards aren't super high. I've only done this for just over a year now and I think I have around six too that I personally really...
I use only a 180mm lens and it works fine. I didn't know what lens I'd get right away either but the 180 was available used for a decent price and of a good brand, Rodenstock, so I got it. Works...
oookkkaaayyy. Lost me. What is a digital negative?
I shoot large format because I really enjoy it.
Seriously, it fits perfect with me and my contemplative introspective view of the world.
I just had to post this. You DON'T see something like this everyday (well at least I don't) and yet so ordinary.
I'd like to take a long exposure of the 'famous' local rock at night lit up with the full moon behind me later this month. I will be using Kodak TXP 320 B/W film. There are not any other light...
Just outside Okotoks, Alberta. Hot from the scanner.
After getting a printer, I have printed a few of my best and put them in a portfolio. I take local nature scenics: shots of nature/trees/night shots/barns and buildings. I would like to show them...
Another query on the printer. What is the recommended ppi of image detail that you should set images to? I am using 300.
My unwanted opinion: I don't think tones are as important in colour as in b/w photography. What I like about colour is how I can catch all the subtle variations of hue (especially on cloudy days) in...
Nice scan Ole. I like it.
I am really enjoying this. But prints are prints. They want to be matted. Any advice on this? Any calgarians out there knowing a good place for supplies? Thank you.
I made a couple prints. I like them. I am happy. Works for me.
I got the Epson R1800 printer. Got a rebate as long as I got it before the 31st so I got it affordably. Thank you for your input.
I would like to get a quality printer able to print up to 11x14 for colour work (mostly). I am shooting 4x5 chromes and scan them in an epson 4990 for great 11x14 prints. I would like a printer to go...
Though that is just the thing. Currently we don't have any room anywhere for having a darkroom. Maybe in a few years after I move... but not feasible right at the moment. But thanks for the advice,...
Really like that shot (the urban one) Walter23.
I never really ever shoot black and white so I thought that I'd like to give it a try. I don't have a darkroom but plan to mail out the box when done shooting. I like to take 'nature' shots mainly...
This shot is more of a grain elevator or like (I think) that is the local landmark but it fits the category even though it is not a barn.
I'd be happy to have this photo taken of me. For one, I can't smile good at all.
I thought it was very neat. I don't notice it much now but if I show someone else, that is one of their major reactions. I am now even used to panning to the right or up if I want the image to go...
Is there a kind of 'art' towards giving proper critiques to other pieces of work? By this I mean the using of perfect wording and grammar to create a fluid flow of words streaming down the page...
I just realized something. I suck at scanning. I have an epson 4990 for scanning my 4x5 slides. I use vuescan. The thing is, my scans never hardly ever look like they are supposed to: Like the slide....
It has been approximately exactly one year now since I first took my first picture with my 4x5 view camera. Thankfully, I think I have improved somewhat since then. One of the most important things I...
