    I think your water is too alkaline, make sure you're using distilled water to mix with your chemistry and do the first and second rinse if your tap water is too basic.

    As mentioned above, get the Enfuse plugin for Lightroom. It is the only high-dynamic-range software of any kind that gives natural looking results in my experience.

    My local lab charges $10 a sheet for B&W 4x5. They do not develop colour, they are the only lab within 2000km that does 4x5.

    Kodak Ektar 100 fits a very nice curve, from the only available test for reciprocity I was able to find. This is unfiltered of course.
