Alan, I agree. Photography changes all the time; there's nothing wrong with printing new articles on stuff that has been covered before. The stuff that was covered before may have changed, or even...

My vision is fine; last time I checked (which was in february of this year) I had 20/20 vision.

    Re: Is bigger better?

I don't think I can take anyone seriously, who say that the largest "decent" prints that one can obtain from 4x5 is 11x14. I've seen 24x30 inch prints made fom 4x5 that show NO GRAIN at all, even at...

  8. The new Epson Scanner V700 looks very promising.

I personally don't see a difference between the V700 scan and the V750 scan. Are both of those scanners using the same optics and just come with different software or what's the deal?

Velvia user giving Astia a try

wg, I've never shot LF negative film before. I'm considering of giving it 160S/C a try, although (as I said before), I'm not sure if it can beat Astia in resolution.

Velvia user giving Astia a try

    wg,

That's very interesting. I wonder how resolution plays into this. If we compare the datasheets of 160S (or 160C) and Astia 100F, we get:

    160S/160C:
    Test-Object Contrast...

Additionally, I think those numbers for Velvia are slightly inflated. The high saturation and contrast also takes blows out some of the detail. I agree that Astia appears sharper.

    lens caps?

Thanks Robert, that actually did help. I ordered 70mm and 57mm lens caps. The rear of the 75mm SA seems to be 64mm, but I could only find a 65mm cap. Maybe it'll work.

    lens caps?

    Hey folks,
