Yup, that was just totally unnecessarily harsh, and potentially way off the mark. Hard to believe that people post stuff like that without knowing the recipient.
Funny, I couldn't see 13 towers for the longest time, but when I finally found the missing ones, I ended up with 17! :) Neat shot somehow. Not very traditional.
Ah, please, no self-portraits in here!
:)
I guess what he wanted to hide is already sticking out...
Arca Andy, why not post your own?
That's not rain! Deswegen meine Frage :)
Great perspective. I get the distinct impression that the trees are only a few inches tall.
Funny shots! It would be quite a sight to see a LF camera in the bathroom like this. So, how did you get the rain into your bathroom?
Great portraits, Jim. The tattoos on his arms are some of the most interesting I have seen in a long time. Tattoos often look bitsa to me, but these look deliberate, and as part of a whole. I am less...
Efke is great, I have used the CHS 25 primarily though.
Very nice, Marko, especially the composition and tones.
Very nice, Scott. Interesting plant.
Hugo, I *really* like that, it looks very classic.
I like this one, Scott. I think removing the chair, making the lighting slightly more dramatic (less light on the shadow side, perhaps), and choosing a sweater which either stands out more or blends...
I have subscribed internationally, i.e. the online edition, for nearly a year now, and have turned a blind eye to spelling errors, wild layout variation, inconsistent and confusion file naming...
Seconded! I don't really like flower shots in general, and only look into this thread for completeness, but this is great!
Okay, I give up: where's the girl?
;)
.
The miracle being... someone steals your LeBaron so you can cash in the insurance!
Very nice composition and tonality.
Kirk did make the statement that he received numerous complaints from people who did not want to see the 617 camera photos in here, so as much I would prefer to say that LF is any negative/positive...
I am not about to go anywhere, but I do think that the rules could be improved in this area, or at least the enforcing. Moving a thread to where many images aren't allowed, and then removing those...
You make it sound like you can't change this. Where do we go and who do we talk to if we would like to reach a new consensus?
By the way, why was the thread moved from another forum to here, when...
Well, actually, those aren't the rules, and that is where it gets sticky. If you put 120 through a roll film holder on a 4x5, you may post the results. If you put the same film through a medium...
Kirk, rather than deleting a bunch of enjoyable photos, how about using the rule to push this thread into a forum where it is allowed, with a note left behind for those puzzled?
SoS has been on my ignore list ever since I realized that there was one. A more deserving applicant you could hardly ask for.
Great shot, Charles. Since you mentioned the composition, have you tried cropping it slightly at the top and left, maybe a tiny bit at the bottom?
It has something Nik, but I think for the best effect, you really need to look down on things from a higher level. Is there a hill around?
I also think I prefer the Hemingway, but he has so many good ones, it is hard to choose. Shaw, Sibelius, Churchill, Grace Kelly, Castro, Giacometti, Georgia O'Keefe, Mauriac, Schweitzer, Picasso... I...
Once I was walking down the street, and suddenly the air was kinda foul. Since then I have tried not to breathe too much.
I guess you need small circular film :)
There was an explanation a little earlier: it got deleted by mistake, and would have been too time-consuming to restore. If you posted something in the original thread, you could re-post it now.
I shoot 135 film and digital, 645 and 6x6 film, and 4x5 film, and I find myself never reaching for the 35mm film camera. It just doesn't have any image quality compared to either digital or the...
Yeah, I am idly toying with the idea of exchanging my Linhof Master Technika for a 45-N2... If there was still walnut available I would be a goner. Teak isn't quite as nice, IMO.
The Scottish Highlands for me. Perhaps also Hawaii and Japan. Scotland should be doable, as I live in Germany. I doubt I will get to either Hawaii or Japan in the next 5-7 years.
Vertical panoramas are also really special, but very difficult to pull off. I have seen just a few successful ones, but they were really different.
How about cutting holes for the various ratios...
A 28mm on 135 has a horizontal angle of view of 65 degrees. A 90mm on 4x5 has about 70 degrees, I believe, so a touch more.
My feeling is that 6x12 is not terribly panoramic, but you could experiment a bit with cropping 4x5s to get the feel for that yourself. Try going out with your 90 and compose only for the 2:1 strip...
Apart from some dust or scratches, I don't see any obvious problems. On the other hand, the posted image is so small that it would be hard to spot problems.
Private page, I cannot view it?
Yep, ' = feet, and " = inches :)
Wow, Johnny, that must have been an incredibly discouraging start :( Makes for a great story though, which in the long run may well be worth more :)
