I have had the 115mm Grandagon since 20 years. It is a great lens and covers 8x10 for interiors but vignetts at infinity. The 120 Nikkor is also great and covers a bit more. I have avoided Super...
Courier services cost much more from Iceland than to Iceland, probably because the traffic ist much lower from the country than to it. I ship by airmail and mark the box as containing FILMS FOR...
There are no labs in Iceland any more. Only old crows like me shoot film and I process my own b&w but ship color neg abroad, recently to Praus Produtions in Rochester NY.

If you want to fight wind for sheet film photography in Iceland a good quality golf umbrella is the best instrument to shelter the camera during...
Developing 120 film on reels especially on steel reels was disastrous till I took up pre-washing . I pre wet all films also Ilford and see no harm done to Ilford film.
4x5” film is 10,2x12,7 cm
Beautiful photographs. Apparently fantastic prints. Very much the disciple of Pentti Sammallahti the great finnish photographer and teacher.
I would avoid red if I wanted discretion. Red attracts more than just bulls.
I had the same problem with my Advantage recently and was quoted the same part number and supplier. I also called Richard Ritter and he has experience in replacing the chain.

I have had the wooden Canham since 35 years. Mine was a special order with the front accepting Linhof Technika lensboards. There was a slight problem with the Linhof front, but Keith Canham took care...
I have four 5 liter bottles that were sold specially for photographic chemicals. I bought those in October of 1968 and still use those today. Two for developer and two for fix. They are of thick...
I have two Linhof cases. One for the Master Technika 4x5” and one for the Technika 5x7”. I bought both those aluminium cases of ebay.de where they show up now and then. If I remember correctly they...
This is a cracy old thread. Last time I wrote a comment I was 56. Now I am 76.
A ISO 100 -160 is fine on a sunny day. When it is overcast and or rainy or windy ISO 400 is an advantage especially to stop motion.
A problem with wind is best solved with a solid golf umbrella. If you want landscapes those are everywhere but I would try to avoid those overexposed clichés everyone snaps.
If you were offered a Ferrari for a decent price would you then worry about the parts you might need in a distant future ? I have had many enlargers and none of those compares to the Durst 1200...
The original bellows fot the Phillips cameras were made by Custom Bellows in the UK.
An Aristo VC head. A very fine tool but the Aristo company is no more an I had trouble when I needed a new tube. The ultimate id Heiland Led but it sets you back 5 grand.
I have built myself a new darkroom at home now when I have retired from my studio. Two panoramas in opposite directions.

About 45 years ago I had a darkroom with cold water only, about 40˚ Farenheit. I washed double weight over night at a slow flow rate and the prints are still OK. It is to be noted that you pay an...
Interesting & entertaining !
Thank you so much, Sal Santamaura !
Does anyone know about the whereabouts of Richard Phillips. We used to be in a friendy contact and today I tried to send him an email to an address I got but it was not in use.
I spoke to Mr. Jürgen Heiland about this a few days ago. It is LED light with a narrow spectral red, has a dimmer and it can switched to white. I have a 125 square feet darkroom and he thought I...

Great images and news from the very father of this forum!
In defence I say selective drama is the curse of digital photography since it became so easy on the computer.
My most recent 4x5"s. From this summer in the North West of Iceland Ebony Fujinon 300 mm C TMX 100 film.
Try this till BREXIT ruins everything https://www.peak-imaging.com I have had nice experience with them !
Keith is a very prompt person! He usually answers within hours !
It covers 8x10” on infinity focus with very little shift when stopped down. But for interiors the focus is closer and more shift is possible. I have used the 115 Rodenstock Grandagon for interiors...
Do you use or know the Metalmaster 4x5" film holder made by Hoffman Camera corporation In Farmingdale NY ? Those have no end flaps.

There were 5x7" Grafmatic holders. I think I red that Paul Caponegro used those.
This is what you call a contraption. I think this something from carpenters workshop.
Find a sturdy Gitzo aluminium tripod on Fleabay, but not too heavy and a Majestic geared head to go with it. I have used this combo with an 8x10 and quite like it.
