ermm, let me be the odd one out. Unless you are using a drum scanner (which you aren't) - always scan at the maximun uninterpolated resolution of your scanner at 16bit, then resize in Photoshop for...
or even better 2 pairs of raid 0 15k scsi drives!
I've been doing some scanning and printing for a lab here. They've gone from Mac to Win. Why? Shifting large amounts of data quickly needs a raid 0 system drive and a raid 0 scratch drive. They use a...

IME a traditional BW only kinda gallery wants mattes. Any other kind of place isn't that interested as they aren't likely to show the prints matted anyway, so straight prints are fine
Tim, they are called 'flight cases'...

Brian, so you can create custom means of handling the neg to pos conversion. this is not an icc profile. I have targets for my usual neg stocks for this reason
Julian
you can only profile your scanner if you shoot tranny. It is IMPOSSIBLE to profile for colour neg or BW...
errr, there is quite a large speed penalty in Macs at the moment... if handling big files is an issue, get a decent pc, 4 10k rp drives set as 2 raid 0s (one raid for the system and one for scratch)...

I did a 50x90 inch print for an exhibit last year... it cost me 1200 euros to print and frame. if I sell it for 2400 I cover my costs and the gallery gets its cut. If I want to make 500 euros on it I...
>>I disagree Paul, galleries are the ones demanding these "editions" for their benefit and the benefit of the collectors. Lets not kid ourselves into thinking it is for our benefit
I hate to agree...
Kirk, negpos isn't a colour correction tool. All it does is give you infinite control over the conversion from positive to neg - you still need to colour correct afterwards. it allows you to...

I use NegPos and it is the biggest single improvement I've ever made in scanning colour neg. Takes a whil to get to grips with, but worth the effort. It...

The matte would be fine. The plexi adds a luminosity and a perceived increase in dmax IMO. Maud Gran Formato in Barcelona does diasec and will put a frame around the dibond/diasec
Hi Adrian,
diasec or plexi brings it back... how were the scans?

Hi John, My wife is from Logroño, capital of La Rioja, and though we live in Barcelona, we spend time in that region. I've never found a decent LF supplier there. But Casanaova Pro and Arpi in...
At the last porfolio review I did, out of the 150 people there, no one had matted prints. The prints need to be of a comfortable size to see. 20x16 or 20x24 - although a lot of people had 13x19....
