The focal plane shutter effect is alive and doing well, but has apparently become bored with auto racing and has taken up golf instead:

OK, I understand that some color would be inevitable, it just seems that it would be so overwhelmingly shades of gray(ish) that the use of color film would be of little real value.
Ummm... what colors would you anticipate seeing on the surface of the moon?
Two gorgeous images, Jeffrey!

Neat image, Clay.

Stunning photograph, Martin!
+1
The 8x10 looks like it might be an Indian (Rajah?) knock-off of a Deardorff V8?
Jonathan, in your original post you have one image (2nd one down in right column) that includes a barge on the river. I think that this was taken from the mill at the northern end of Weirton. I...
Jonathan, there were several mills in the area at the time. I do not know how many different mill locations Weirton Steel had, but they did own a mill in Steubenville. Results of a quick search:...
Alas, she does indeed!...........~sigh~................................
Well, back to work!
Jonathan, these are terrific photos! Weirton Steel Corporation was centered just across the Ohio river from Stuebenville. Some of the mills in the area are still in operation, though struggling and...
Yeah, something close to a Schneider Symmar 480mm mounted in a Copal 3 on a Sinar 8x10. Not a particularly fast lens.
What services are or are not subject to sales tax, and what that tax rate is, varies from state to state. Here is a good starting point:

Steve, if your camera looks like either of those linked to by Frank then you have both front and rear swings, although somewhat limited. On the left side of the cameraccentric link

Great shot, Gary! I love the leaf trails in the stream.
Very cool photo, Austin!
I think these have been posted here before:

Until I saw the shadows cast by the lint (?) my initial thoughts were a light leak at the loading hinge tape, but now.............
Looking at the direction of the shadows, the light source had to...
Have you tried contacting Sinar? Your Fuji is mounted in a copal 3s shutter, the sironars and symmars are all in a copal 3, AFAIK. I don't know whether Sinar ever made a 3s mount. The dimensions...
[QUOTE=Brian C. Miller;686548]The Bogen 3036 is not spring loaded. If it was, it could cause serious damage. It is an extremely sturdy tripod, with three sections per leg, extending way out there. ...
I had a Neotec and, quite frankly, was entirely unimpressed.
Pros: The legs extend individually by simply pulling on them (there is some resistance) and collapse by operating each leg release...
I've gone through a couple gallons of the Arista. So far, so good. Only major difference from other 3-step developer kits like Tetenal is that the preferred developing temperature is 105 degrees...
Nice! Oh sure, it has a few wrinkles, but any Pinto that has not had the paint burned off the back half of it is a pretty rare find!;)
It's déjà vu all over again
Yes, but that was posted in the November LF definition thread, Kirk. This is the December LF definition thread.
So, I have a Hulcherama panoramic camera that...
Hey, don't make fun of my hat. I like my hat. Beam me up, Scotty!
.......and if you find such conspiracy theories objectionable and think there are knee-jerk reactionaries involved, then just don't respond. But to take the time to look, comment, and...
Ditto. Beautiful photographs!
Ah! I stand corrected. Thanks Robert.
Really not afraid of anything, Pawlowski, jut a question of propriety. While infocast.nl might plant a cookie or be phishing for info, my best guess on the purpose of the post is this: bjdejong is a...
Frankly, I am with Gem Singer on this. The "survey" may be harmless but it doesn't belong here nevertheless. The OP could have just as easily asked the same questions via one of the polls that are...
Hmm. No, none of the rolls of 120 film that I have say "medium format film for medium format cameras". Film type is not the deciding factor. This is the Large Format PHOTOGRAPHY Forum, not the...
Riverman, you may have left a day too soon. I just got back today. Colors were late, but suddenly "popped" at mid-elevations on Tuesday. By Wednesday they were on their way out and today...
Have you considered shorter jumps?:D
Don't be surprised if the colors are close to a week late this year. I took a trip into the area last week and things didn't look too promising. Just compared notes with a friend who was there this...
The higher elevations (3800-4800 feet) are usually at peak during the first week of October, and sometimes a bit earlier. Mid elevations (2600-3800) usually peak the second week. The real beauty of...
Keith, try Hocking Hills State Park, not too far south of Columbus.
B&H and Adorama have recently discontinued E-6 kits:( . Freestyle still carries the Arista 3-step E-6 in quart and gallon kits.
I've come back to this shot a few times myself. Nice subtle colors (something I am apparently completely unable to do), interesting contrast between cool blue/greys and warm highlights in the rocks...
Actually, I never thought the AC looked all that great until Shelby got hold of it and did the fender flares and fat tires - what a transformation! As for the Triumphs, the TR6 is timeless (well,...
Nice shots, Daniel. I still drool uncontrollably every time I see an AC Cobra!
