    Re: adox cms 20 ii

I also suggest to use Adotec developer.
I don’t use the tripod, but use the rule 1/2f fot the shutter time (1/250 for a 105mm lens), because with such definition camera movement and vibration is a...

    Re: Rome on a Budget

Knowing a bit Rome (thought I live in Milan), I give my 2 cents suggestions:
    - avoid renting a car, circulation in Rome is a nightmare, parking even worse, and expensive
    - rent a place to stay...
  3. Re: Custom-made 4x5 film holder for Hasselblad Scanner❓

I bought these two also. They are excellent.
With the 35mm version you can scan the entire frame area (almost impossible with the original holder).
The 4x5 is tricky to use because of large scan...
  4. Re: Custom-made 4x5 film holder for Hasselblad Scanner❓

I bought several film holders from this source; excellent quality and quite reasonable prices.
  5. Re: Seeking a newer 4x5 camera for mostly landscape

If you will shoot landscape, maybe you could evaluate wooden cameras, which could be lighter than Linhof.
In this case you’d better select also lenses considering the weight: in a total LF backpack,...

Re: Professional Home film processing 4x5 neg

Developing 4x5 films at home is easy, actually easier than black &white.
    What I currently do:
    - Paterson Tank with Mod54 film spiral (I know that Jobo as a similar solution)
    - C-41 Development...

Re: importing big files into Adobe lightroom?

I frequntly import files over 1 Gb into Lightroom.
6x17 negatives (Fuji G617) scanned at 3500 dpi (roughly 10,500 pixel long by 3,500, 16 bit color)
Honestly I don’t need all those pixels, because...
  9. Re: Metering for Rollei IR400 using the R72 Filter

As previously stated by other users, meter normally, set the iso to 6-12 depending on developer, and don’t forget the IR72 filter!
If you use a stronger filter, iso could be lower.
    If you take an...

    Re: Hassy Flextight X1 scanner???

In fact I crop the border of my camera film holder, while the standard configuration of X5 film holder scans also part of the frame, which is useless.

    Re: 4x5 sheets totally clear

If there are no marking on the film border, the film has been fixed but not developed.
If there are markings, development is there, but there was no or not enought exposure.

    Re: Hassy Flextight X1 scanner???

With a flatbed scanner you usually wet mount in order to maintain the negative flat, and the time to scan a single or maybe 2 negs increases a lot.
With X 1 or X5 you simply open the holder, place...

    Re: Organizing Film Holders

I use an App named PhotoExif to sign all data about the shoot for a specific holder.

Re: 3d printed MOD75 for devolping 5x7 sheets

    I can’t help you with this since I don’t use 5x7”.
But if you design a 4x5 version for use with Paterson, I’ll be happy because Mod54 is quite expensive.

    Re: Imacon Flextight Problem

Maybe the scanner part taking the holder is exiting to much from the scanner?
This can be corrected with a regulation, a hidden setting of the scanner?
It happened to my X5 onece.

  22. Re: what's your dust free method for doing 8x10 scans?

    I use a V 750 Pro, the 700 should be the same.
  23. Re: what's your dust free method for doing 8x10 scans?

Try wet scan with the dedicated Holder.
You need the holder ( roughly 100/120$), liquid (I use Kami) and Mylar sheets.
