    Re: Lemon juice stop bath?

    Ari,
Somewhere I read use a 1% or 2% acetic acid stop bath. If some guys are using just plain water for film, maybe I go to 0.5% acteic acid. Somehow, it seems better to have SOME chemicals in...

    Re: Lemon juice stop bath?

Distilled white vinegar is 5% acetic acid, mix 400ml vinegar and 600ml water, and you have 1 litre of stop bath.

    The stuff is very inexpensive!
  4. How many 20x24 prints from 2 litre Ilfochore p-30 kit

I have decided to stock up on P30 and Ilfochrome paper. I need to know the ratio of p30 kits to 20x24 prints in order to go about this correctly. I looked all over for the p30 kit insert PDF, and...
  5. Ilfochrome discontinued, what do I do now?

OK, everything I read tells me that Velvia and Ilfochrome is the pinnacle for color landscapes.

I buy a Toyo 45AII, three lenses, and everything a landscape photographer needs such as backpacks,...
  6. Where do I get an 84mb digital file printed?

I scanned a 4X5 slide, and it is 84mb. I tried to send it to Adorama, but 60mb is the largest file size they accept.

Any suggestions as to where I can send this jpeg file to get printed?
  7. Shelf life of P-30 kit opened & unopened?

I saw with great pleasure that the Ilfochrome P-30 kit is being sold by B&H. However it is a 3 1/2 hour drive to N.Y. to pick it up, since they will not ship it!

    What is the shelf-life unopened...

Re: Anyone use reading glasses as a loupe?

I wonder what the percentage of people on this site need reading glasses? I wonder if we are a bunch of geezers who are committed to the large format for "sentimental" reasons?

    Re: v700, silverfast se, & windows 7

I bounced around a bit, but eventually downloaded a "free update" for the Windows 7. Things are working fine!

  15. Re: RA-4 chemicals: which Kodak product for rotary tank processors (Jobo)?

If I still use 300ml/20X24 print on my Jobo with the 3063 tank with the solutions Larry suggested, it will cost $0.86/20X24 print in regards to chemicals. This will reduce my costs for a "three...
  16. Re: RA-4 chemicals: which Kodak product for rotary tank processors (Jobo)?

The Fujicolor Crystal Archive 20X24 is $2.00/sheet the Tetenal Mono PK is $6.00/sheet.

I cut the 20X24 into six 8X10's, so if I go through the process three times, it is $32.00.

    I can't really...
  17. Re: RA-4 chemicals: which Kodak product for rotary tank processors (Jobo)?

    Larry,
At this point I will follow your lead. Thank you so much for the effort and the web addresses!

    Allen,
For the most part I use 8X10 to test time and filtration, and print to 20x24....
  18. Re: RA-4 chemicals: which Kodak product for rotary tank processors (Jobo)?

    Thanks Sam!

However I get confused by the "adjectives": additive, starter, replenisher. I'm thinking these relate to some large automated processor. Or do I just ignore these descriptors, and just...
  19. RA-4 chemicals: which Kodak product for rotary tank processors (Jobo)?

  20. Re: No initial filter settings for Fujicolor crystal archive super type C paper?

    Great success!

I bought a 24" Fiskars paper cutter and made my own 8X10's from the 20X24 Crystal Archive. I did the time testing, started @ 40M 40Y (it was very close) I ended up using 20M 40Y and...
  21. Re: No initial filter settings for Fujicolor crystal archive super type C paper?

    Bob & Drew,

Thanks a bunch! After I posted my thread, I got on photo.net and found essentially the same info as what you guys gave me. The difference was that post was 5 years ago.

  22. No initial filter settings for Fujicolor crystal archive super type C paper?

I've spent several thousand bucks on getting set up in 4X5 (camera & darkroom). I was playing with Kodak Supra endura on 8X10, and decided I was ready for 20X24.

I bought 50 sheets of Fujicolor...

  29. Re: Chromega Dichroic main light not working
