  1. Re: Tiny but precise stick on levels for levelling the standards?

Yes, Bob, you are right, as usual. I apologise myself for this stupid mistake.
But, my real mistake is that I always have the finder residently set on it.
That's why I did not finally consider it...
  2. Re: Tiny but precise stick on levels for levelling the standards?

    Hi, everybody,
for a large format camera, these bubble levels which can be mounted on hot shoes need a hot shoe ! I know, this is quite stupid to say that. But I don't know which view or field...
  3. Re: Gnass Filmholder Case - Some Design Thoughts

I add that you could find some resellers in France. I have a list which I could mail to you if you wish.
  4. Re: Gnass Filmholder Case - Some Design Thoughts

    Hi, everybody,
Bruce, it might be very pleasant if your bags could be distributed or shipped to Europe (and best to France, and best of the best, to my home.
I already use Gnassgear lens bags,...

Re: Gitzo Leveling Base how do you.....

I don't know how the Sachtler tripod is made, and I fear that this levelling base can only be adapted for Gitzo tripods. The tripod needs to have a collar to fix the base. Might be better to try it...
  6. Re: Are there any 3-way heads that can take an arca style QR clamp?

The Gitzo G-1570 M low profile head is like an aircraft carrier :) . I post two pictures of the Gitzo head and the Linhof lower side.
When the camera is fixed on the two clamps, it is firmly secured...
  7. Re: Digital Inclinometer w magnets? accurate w a metal camera?

    Frank,
    I use an angle indicator that I bought by McMaster-Carr. http://www.mcmaster.com/ - Page 2241. Ref. 20145A41
It is made of cast aluminum alloy, not plastic, an has no magnetic base. ...
  8. Re: Are there any 3-way heads that can take an arca style QR clamp?

I use a Gitzo G-1570 M low profile head in magnesium. It can take TWO quick release clamps. Mine are Linhof's Quickfix. But any other model can be fixed on it using the two 3/8 screws.

Re: Gitzo Leveling Base how do you.....

The system is quite simple : the lever on the side of the leveling base is linked with the head screw. When the lever is on the left side, the screw is free. Screw the head as far as possible, and...

    Re: Help! Quickload holder problem

Hi, Joanna. Pleased to meet you here, and your Ebony on your website.
  11. Re: An easy way to carry a Linhof opened - the "maxi-toploader".

To be honest, Larry people who use a (nearly) 8lb camera handheld are a bit crazy. But happy to do it ! Don't worry it is not (too) contagious.

    Re: Photo Gear Storage

Firearms - legal ones, of course - must be well protected against theft or unauthorized use.

  13. Re: An easy way to carry a Linhof opened - the "maxi-toploader".

Well, Larry, that's good news if you can use your MT with the rangefinder. I'm glad if we could help you.
Now welcome to the MT/RF/HH* addict club !

  14. Re: An easy way to carry a Linhof opened - the "maxi-toploader".

    Larry,
it's a pity (or a shame, or a crime, or what you want) to see the rangefinder removed on a Technika as did the previous owner of yours.
Many wooden or metal cameras (like the Wista 45 SP) -...

    Re: Darkcloth for TK45s

Yes, the reflex viewer is excellent. I have one, and I think that it is a bit bulky in a bag, as it doesn't fold as Horseman models do.
Only separate into two parts. Maybe a bit fragile in a bag.
  16. Re: An easy way to carry a Linhof opened - the "maxi-toploader".

OK. This "focus mount" is what I thought.

    - Similar focusing mounts are used on a Linhof for lenses which have to be placed inside the housing, like 47, 55, 58 and 65mm wide angle lenses. I...

    Re: Just what we needed...

But what happens to all the gear, cameras and accessories if the robot has a sudden "malfunction" ? Is there an "emergency knob" if it decides to jump into a river or from the top of a cliff ?
  18. Re: An easy way to carry a Linhof opened - the "maxi-toploader".

The distance scale needs to accurately appreciate the distance by sight, which I am totally unable to do. I would have to use a laser rangefinder.
Some small mechanical rangefinders can be mounted...

    Re: Darkcloth for TK45s

Ben, I use a Gnassgear darkcloth on a Master Technika, and it works well. Three velcro strips and two press-studs allow an excellent fixation on the camera back.
