    I have always needed 3 cases; one housed my lenses, which I carry on the airplane with me, while the others went into the cargo bay. Case two carried the 8x10 p along with a bunch of accessories, and...
  4. Re: Do you get sentimental about your lenses?

    I had a 120 mm lens that was, no more than an inch high in a Copal shutter; traded it out for something photographic 30 years ago; I didn't realize I loved that lens until I needed it 2 weeks later....

    Re: 4x5 Grafmatic film backs

    I would never place any oil on the septums; oil on your film wouldn't go over very well. I would place very little between the outside edges of the film compartment and then on the holder's inside...

    I am a firm believer in the Grafmatic holders, once I discovered the Grafmatic holders I cut my hauling gear down to 10 grafmatics holders from 30 4x5 sheet film holders. That's shooting b&w and...

    Re: LF Loupe vs regular 35mm lens

    It was always a bear looking at the 65mm on the ground glass especially the edges, even with the finest loops made, But with polaroid film, my favorite type 52 always saved the shot.

    [QUOTE=pgk;1552534]

  10. Re: building a copy/digitizing stand out of Sinar parts

    I also have been looking for a copy stand to set up my GFX 100 to digitize my 8x10 negatives off a LED light box. When I read this thread I remembered doing this years ago with the 4x5 on my tripod. ...

    Re: How Many LF Formats Do You Use/Own?

    Sinar F 4x5

    Sinar p 4x5,5x7 and 8x10
    the 5x7 and 8x10 get the most use.
  15. Re: 8 x 10 Field Camera with the largest amount of front "fall"?

    my sinar rises quite well and falls depending on your format.
    My experience has been I rise my front way more than drop it (fall). Because one would just rise the back up to get more front fall.

  28. Re: Framing a darkroom against concrete wall

    Painting the ceiling is a very good idea, vacuum joists, floorboards, etc. then give it a nice thick coat of paint, a couple of coats, this will seal the dirt in, I have done this in a few buildings.
