I tried this once. I bought a used drum scanner for $1800... It worked 1 day. I got a quote for $4,000 to get it fixed. Now I just send out what my Epson can't handle.

... to save time you might try rasterizing your pdf's in photoshop and then drop them as a single photo into Blurb.
Welcome. I'm in Elko if you ever want a tour of the Rubies.

When they where out of stock, I called and ordered a case and they UPS'd it in 3-days.
Here's mine.
I'm going to try Elevator. Only because they have the best prices of those recommended.
Thanks for all the helpful replies.
Thanks Walter. I found those also. Was hoping to get input from people who could vouch for a labs quality. Costs are a lot higher now and I don't want to spend $50/8x10 to find out.
I need a few Cibachrome contact prints. Can someone recommend a lab?
The Wehman is designed for rugged field use. You wouldn't want to take a Mercedes on a jeep trail.
I've used them and like their product. Make sure to follow the instructions for preparing your pictures.
If you are comfortable using Photoshop, Elements is awkward. She'll learn more by you helping her directly in Photoshop. Show her one task at a time. Just my two cents (posts).
She can learn photoshop. It all depends on how much she wants to learn it. She might surprise you. I know an older computer phobic lady who is doing quite well with it. I suggest Katrin Eismann's...
D., Miguel, and John... thanks a bunch. It's always nice to hear a compliment.
Here's some from the Palouse in Washington State.
Thanks and I did'nt use a center filter I just stopped down.
My home page: www.paulstimac.com the first picture that loads, as well as Ruby Mountains #3, Palouse #6, Miscellaneous #4, #5, & #7.
It depends on how many you have and what resolution you want. I can't remember what I paid last time but somewhere around $12-15 a scan. They'll negotiate with you.

seems to be the best price/performance that I've found. I've had scans from WCi and like Jaincotech scans as much or better.... and they are a lot cheaper. They have an...

You can put the printed version up on Blurb.com and increase the price by whatever blurb charges. This will cost you nothing except a little time to rebuild the book with Blurbs software. This can be...
If you stop in Wells you should drive up to Angel Lake. Take the first exit to the right and right again and follow the signs. It's about 5 miles up the mountain. Also, if you stop in Elko, 50 miles...
I like freeway.

Incredible site - thanks. One of the best I've seen.
Try scanning it as a positive or use the epson software for black and white. I know this goes against what more knowledgeable people say about this scanner but .... that's what works best for me.
If all 4 are off the same, then maybe it's your meter that's off? If the meter is good and you want to be cheap about it, just compensate when you shoot. That is, if your meter says 15th shoot a...
It's listed in B&H's new catalogue that came in the mail yesterday.
Before I got a super trekker I used an older version of this:

Maybe you can find a used one on ebay?
in fact this one's more like it...
I've had the best luck with www.sendthisfile.com
I just want to know how they got the aerial shots of the animals without scaring them. They continue to hunt while, I’m assuming, a helicopter is flying over head. Did they fly really high with long...
Right, I have never tried an Ebony, a Lotus, or a Phillips (plus many others). But I have tried a Calumet C-1 and I still feel that the Wehman is comparable to it with a 1200mm TELE. It's not as...
The Wehman is not more stable. The C1 is a tank. But I get about the same amount of keepers - though I haven't actually counted. I use the Wehman because it's easier to carry. The 1200 is a tele - it...
That's the head I had trouble with...the B2 - especially with the mount at the rear of the camera. It was too hard to aim with. Plus I just didn't get sharp pics when I used it – not one.
With the...
no with the c-1 I used a surveyor's tripod and a majestic head.... very very stable.
I have had the opposite experience. I regularly use a 1200mm on mine with good results. I have about the same keeper rate as with a calumet c-1. Maybe it’s your head/tripod combo? I had a ball head...
Wehman 8x10 - http://www.wehmancamera.com/camera.html
It's about as stable as a Calumet C-1 but w/o the weight.
- what does multiplate offset mean? a duotone or cmyk? all are on different plates - is this not multiplate or is the multiplate you're refering to a unique process?
By the way, if you are ever in...
This goes against what everyone's saying but I usually get better black and white scans with the epson software. ????? Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Silverfast beats epson hands down for color...
man that guy's funny - I'm going to use that next time someone asks.
Chris Jordan's older photos are a great example of what you are talking about. Motion blurr of moving people with everything else stationary. I don't know were to find them online anymore. Maybe Chis...
I'm interested in all processes. Let's not turn this forum into APUG....if you don't want to hear about digital then go over there.
