Yes a 75mm works well on a Sinar F1/F2 with bag bellows. I never tried with standard bellows but I believe it is not suitable. A fresnel lens is highly recommended with the 75 (I don't own a 90).
Hi Jean-Claude
It's a pity you didn't ask before buying from mpex. Andre Mouton, much closer to your home, provided a Sinar/Toyo adapter for me last year. I'm pretty sure he could have provided a...
I have been using a SA 75/5,6 for several years and like it very much. Although it is "usable" with standard belows (that's what I do on the Toyo 45 CF) it works much better with WA belows. A fresnel...

At the time your tripod was made they were all made from aluminium and the series numbering refered to the diameter of the larger tube. Numbering of each model refered to various datas like the...
Other people may disagree, and I must say I'm not fan of wide angles, but I don't feel tempted by 72XL and SS80. There should be plenty of 75 SA, Nikkor SW and Grandagon on the used market. And I...
For this kind of job (4x5 ekta) I'm using a Schneider SA 75/5,6 with Heliopan Polarizer and no CF.
I have been using a FLM 32 on a Gitzo Basalt series 1 for about 1 year 1/2. Lightweight setup for Rolleiflex TLR and DSLR...
The head is OK with TLR but did not like the switch from D70 to D200....

Lucas, if you are hiking a long way I really recommend considering the CF. As far as lenses are concerned I just carry them into the external pockets of my backpack with both caps.
Certainly not. As far as I can remenber (I replaced my AII for a CF last year) I doubt it can close with any lens mounted even the tiniest.
The CF can close with a small lens (105, some 135,...
I've cracked half of my Toyo darkslides and none of Fidelity.
I have been using the 120 HM for years. I shoot 2/3 of my pictures with it; at this focal length it really is unique. And yes, it is the only lens which I can see (slightly) sharper than others I...
The problem with the 65mm is not related to the bellows, it is that the lens isn't on the focusing rail anymore in order to focus at infinity but on the short rail inside the box.
The question about...
A 65 mm will not work with the Toyo CF : 75 mm is the shortest.
If you can read french :

Being completely satisfied with my 10 years old B1, I recently bought a Z1 for a new tripod. The Z1 replaces the B1 and is marginally lighter and less expensive. I can't comment about its load...
My F2 stands on an Arca B1. I use the same tripod/head for MF and DSLR then the Sinar head is not for me.
I don't have a 90 anymore, nor a 150. 75 & 120 work better for me.
And the F2 has separate locks for swing and shift on both standards. Otherwise said F2 have one more lever running paralell to the base of frames.
Be aware that many F2 sold on eBay actually are F1.
Justin,
I have been using a 45CF for about two years. And I finally sold the 45AII which was the first view camera I bought 7 years ago. In my opinion a 45CF is better than the AII on features...
Well, my english may not be good enough. Let's try : in order to achieve maximal extension of your camera you have to extand the front standard on the rails and the back standard which stands on two...
A Nikkor 300 M is completely suitable for a Toyo 45AII. Should be the same for an 45A.
Did you think about extending the "rods" of the back ?
Yes, the 90SAXL will work. The lensboard opening of the 45AII is square and large, no limited round shape as in Linhofs'. A 90mm is usable on a flat lensboard; But a 90SAXL seems overkill for this...
Salve Luca,
After years of Toyo field camera I started to use a Sinar f1 six months ago with great pleasure and efficiency. But yet if I have to hike for many hours I still take the Toyo field (a CF...
Published coverage for the 150 G Claron is 189mm, even though that might be conservative it is'nt enough for movement with 5x7. But for 4x5 it is OK. I have been using one for several years as a...
On my 45 AII there is a stong (I mean VERY strong) zero detent for front swing and almost no play at all. It is so stiff that adjusting small amount of swing is quite difficult.
I'm wondering if...
Hi Dan,
Ther are 3 locks on the front standars : one for shift+swing+locking it on the rail, another one for tilt and the two knobs for rise/fall.
If all are locked the front standard sould'nt be...
The Sinar F1 is a very good entry point into large format as already said. Seen from Europe the £600 price seems a little bit high (for a man to man transaction) unless the camera is really mint and...
YES : it has shift and swing (same lever lock), center tilt and rise and fall on the front.
And zero detent on all movements except rise and fall (red mark for neutral position).
"in a way it does have backwards rear tilt...But I imagine it's one stop only, not variable. Either it's tilted or it isn't, which isn't much use"
This is perfectly acurate: the only purpose of the...
"flip either one DOWN and the standard is locked"
Are you sure?????
Frank is right but difficulties happen with monorails because there are several parts protruding below the back. With both Toyo 45 and CF there is no problem (and I guess as well with every folding...
Well I use Fuji instant film on my Toyo.
You can use both "medium format" (FP-100C or FP-3000B) pack film with PA-145 holder
or 4x5 pack film (FP-100C 45) with PA-45 holder.
The equivalent of...
A Sinar F1 is even lighter than a F2 and you won't miss any important feature in the field. I would'nt like moving with the Sinar attached to the tripod, but you can easily separate the rail from the...
If you can find some "old" Velvia use it. My second choice would be the Velvia 100 F. And by the way do not hesitate to use your polarizer specially on cloudy or rainy days : it will remove...
Give a look here
Don't know about the F Plus.
F1/F : F1 has angle and dof calculators on the rear standard (no calculator on the F)
F2/F1 : F2 has gear focusing on both standards (F1 only on the rear) and separate...
Jan,
I am mostly a field camera guy but I was tempted by a Discovery a couple of years ago. It is a good camera but, at the difference of the Tachi, you will need a bag bellows for wide angle lenses...
