My vote's for Fay Godwin. Check out her book Land, a spectacular collection of b&w images.

    Tripod restrictions at Machu Picchu?

I can't help you with an answer. Sorry! However, hauling a 12x20 up to machu picchu I think may be a greater burden than anything else, but I am envious of the opportunity to try! I hope you...

    Is b/w LF photography a"tradition"?

    Nick -

You're obviously a college professor: too much analysis! Zen approach: don't think, do! Agreed: forget Homage! Finally, to paraphrase Ellington: "if it looks good, it is good."

    Lenses for 11x14

A friend of mine uses a 305 G-Claron on 7x17, which is 1/2" bigger diagonal than 11x14. Closed way down he says it has a lot of coverage, a lot more than Schneider states in their specs.

Where to locate out of print books

www.bookfinder.com is - I think - the best, since it searches many sites, including PhotoEye and www.abebooks.com. I'd avoid buying anything through alibris.com. all they do is buy from other...

    Kodak TechPan

Just to bolster your decision, and others' opinions, I recently saw a show in NYC of prints 40 inches square made from TMax 100 in d-76 1-1 negs shot with a rollie. That means 20x enlargements, you...
  11. Inexpensive new 4x5 lens recommendations for Graphic

www.mpex.com currently has a fuji f/5.6 125mm that I'm told almost covers 5x7. It was written up in View Camera recently as a bargain. It's small, light, very sharp and inexpensive. Mpex's price is...

    focusing wide angle lenses

Suggestion: zone focus! Schneider's d-o-f tables say that at f/16 and focused at 15', everything to 6.22' is in focus and at f/22 and focused at 10' everything to 4.36' is in focus. Even if you're...

    Korona 5x7 Camera User's Experiences

A wonderful camera. I used an 8x10 for many years that I used most of the time with a 5x7 back. A 5X7 recently passed through my hands - wonderful. I think most people who 'have' to have cameras...
