  1. Re: Silver Magnet Silver Recovery Unit still in existence?

Can you collect rain? If you use a "first flush diverter" (diverts first rain to waste, and the collection area is pre-rinsed) it can work well.
  2. Re: Bellows on my Tachihara: how to tell leather from not leather

The odor? Leather has a smell.
  3. Re: Anybody removed the carbon fiber baseplate of Chamonix 45F1 from the focus assemb

A tip I learned from a machinist. When you apply the correct bit to your screw, apply some pressure in the tight direction first. Then begin the loosening. Back up,as you go. In your case, contacting...

    Re: Fixing bellows corners

You really have nothing to lose here. Try a dab of "Liquid Electrical Tape" , applied to the inside of the bellows corners. Wait overnight, and test with your brightest torch in a dark room. Rinse...

    Re: glass neg carrier

The injunction to use glass carriers is, in my humble opinion, a "council of perfection". Why so, I hear you cry? Because your sheet of film is exposed in a holder, sans glass, held in place by small...
  6. Re: Beginner-friendly developer for 8x10 HP5 and Tri-X in 8x10"

Given your developer quantities, read up on Kodak Xtol,Replenished. Replace with 70-80ml for each 8x10 sheet, good for years. My stock bottle is 5+ years in, and going strong. Vanbar has it.

    Re: Chamonix 4x5 advice, please

I have a 45 F2 and could not be happier. The O.P will find all the lenses he lists fully usable, no need for a recessed board. If the need arises, any Linhof-style board should fit. Caveat : with the...

    Re: Develop -N2

Another way to tame contrast is the use of what we used to call "Wink Flash". A strobe , close as possible to the lens, dialed back to just open the shadows. If you can see the secondary (flash)...

Re: Rethinking my 4x5 Field Camera choice

Re: A Good Cool Tone Developer?

With the Ilford emulsions you have ,and using ,in my case, home mixed D72, and Dektol previously , I would strongly suggest finishing with a gentle treatment in Selenium Toner. I use Kodak, but Ilford...

Re: What speed 4x5 film for newbie?

Re: New (to me) Horseman 4x5 camera
