Kirk,
If you can find time, and if it is still accessible, try to get to a place called American Flats. It is worth the trip. It is near Gold Hill, Nv which is south of Virginia City. American...
Hey Kirk,
I wonder why something like this isn't done here in New Mexico? After all, there are a few photographers in the area.
In no particular order:
Minor White
Aaron Siskind
Edward Weston
Fredrick H. Evans
Paul Caponigro
Carleton E. Watkins
Laura Gilpin
Paul Strand
Another "proper way" to cut the hole is on a lathe.
I've been using the Manfrotto 357 setup on my V8 for quite some time without any problems. The plate is 2.25" x 5.5"' and the whole rig is pretty stout.
Welcome Dave. I'm in Los Lunas, but I get up your way on a regular basis.
Henry,
Cool, glad to know they work a phone.
I might mention for everyone that if the intended destination for one's pdf's is a mobile device of some sort, the files can me made much smaller...
Darin,
I have experimented with making an e-book of some of my images. It is not as straight forward as one would hope. The first thing to keep in mind is that e-books were designed to present...
Paul,
Thank you for the information. My motor is marked 24 volts also, so it is good to know that I don't need a power supply quite that big. I saw that the motor is connected to the circuit...
Hey Paul,
I have a processor with the same problem. Could you provide some specific details on your solution. Thanks!
Hey Craig,
I have data from the 1967 Burke & James catalog that says the 17" Copy Ektanon covers 14x17 "stopped down". There is no specific f/stop given. Since this data does not come from a...
Steve,
Take a look here, it may be of some help.

Tim,
The thread diameter on my 210 Componon is 60mm.
Stefan,
I use the 165 primarily on 5x7 and I'll pass along a couple of observations. First, it is not as contrasty as more modern optics, so I've found that I need a bit more development for...
The image area of negatives exposed in a 6x12 Horseman back measure 56mm x 112mm.
Boy, that's the truth!
Alec,
The outside diameter of the front barrel on the 10" WF Ektar is 3.547", the rear is 3.350", both +/- .001". Sorry, I don't have a metric dial caliper. David is correct, the front thread is...
Been photographing walls for years.....

Tim,
I have a 15 1/2" Velostigmat II. While it will illuminate 11x14 quite nicely, without any soft focus cranked in it gets very soft at the edges. Actually, it is more of a focus shift than...
Peter,
Some months ago I switched to Archival Methods bright white board after years of using LI's bright white board. The two boards are identical as far as I can tell.
A couple of years ago I tested PL100 in both Pyrocat HD and D-76. In both developers, it had a fb+f that is 2-3 times what I routinely see with TM100 & TM400. In D-76 PL100 had a fb+f of 0.18 -0.20...
This type of roll film holder is really intended to be used with a Grafloc or "international" back, one that has slide locks to secure the roll holder in place. I have used my 6x12 Horseman back on...
I believe that this is a Home Portrait Graflex, minus the viewing hood.
Steve,
If you are talking about the building on the second page of the pdf file that looks like a church, that is part of an old movie set located on Hwy 170 a few miles west of Lajitas, TX. It...
The number of photographers who think "No Trespassing" signs do not apply to them absolutely astounds me. I know quite a few photographers who think nothing of entering posted, private property to...
Kirk,
G5's cannot boot OS 9, but can run OS 9 applications in the "Classic Environment". The only way to know if your app will run successfully is to load it and give it a try. Getting a SCSI...
More than a few of us harbor a similar hope.......
My thoughts exactly!!!!
This indeed is the real deal. I know Armstrong, and I well remember the day he called and said "you aren't going to believe the phone conversation that I just had.....". The resulting book was...
Ted,
If you only need a half dozen holders, $55 might be ok. But if a person needs 20 holders, they are looking at more than $1000, a cost almost rivaling what a new 5x7 Shen-Hao camera costs. ...
Yes, this is insane. Over the past several months folks with more money than ...... well, I'll let you fill in the blank. Anyway the price of 5x7 holders has skyrocketed, as if there will never...
Ralph,
Unfortunately, that is one area where they are as challenged as LI. Let's face it, packing matte board so it doesn't get damaged is a bit of a trick. Plus, and this is the real issue...
Lightroom does have a tool for removing spots. It functions somewhat differently than the tools in Elements and CS, but it is quite usable for removing most spots and imperfections.
You might give Archival Methods a try.

I've been using them for a while now. They have the same stuff a LI, ship promptly, and provide excellent customer...
I routinely use a 24" Artar in a #3 Copal shutter on my Canham traditional 4x5/5x7. This lens and shutter combination weights quite a bit, but it is usable on the Canham. I just have to be very...
I'd also suggest that you ask them to quote prices!
I'll be there.
Kirk,
I too agree. I saw Steve's post and it was no different than Michael's post about Magnachrom.
Yes, according to the Ranger you can walk into the area closed to auto traffic.
