Re: Opinions on IQsmart2 vs. 3

I think if you go for the IQsmart then you should get the 3 and not the 2. Go all the way or not at all. I have the IQSmart3 and it's a pretty nice machine. I used to scan 120 with an ixpress CF...
  2. Re: Help finding the right 8x10 camera/lens for a silly project...

I like my Wehman 8x10 for this kind of work because it's really light weight and easy to carry and still has some movements. You might be able to use flash on your subjects?

Re: Lane Dry Plates: What is a practical ISO rating?

I have the sekonic color spectrum meter c-700 and you can use the CRI histogram to meter for the dry plates with a little bit of math. It's even just helpful to get a quick look at the lighting.

I looked through my brochure but didn't see those parts in there. At first I thought they were rail table mounts but they don't have a grove for the gear.

Thanks, and yes the front standard is from a Linhof 8x10 Kardan Color which has the gearing for rise /fall so I may motorize that in the future. For now I want to take some portraits with it first...

Re: Creo iQsmart3 and Supreme II scan speed

I have an IQ3 and though it's been a little while since I scanned 4x5, I think it's much faster than that - I'm thinking 10 minutes at 4000 dpi is probably about right. You can cut your own...

I'd like to know what developer people like with this film. I've had a few boxes of the sheet film in 4x5 and 8x10 and wasn't happy with the results I got with it in Rodinal 1::100 stand either.
