Am I the only one getting a "new post" email from this forum from a guy selling some stuff? I don't see the messages here, but the link to this forum is in the email.
Weird.

Weird.
Apples and oranges.
I have primarily shot MF for the last decade or so and 35mm before that.
I have an 8 X 10 and hope to eventually use it. These days, I'm wrestling with
a 4 X 5 and enjoying...
My 2c:
1. HTML etcetera is easy for people who write code.
2. According to the statistics for my site and the two others I maintain, almost nobody is accessing them from a MAC and almost...
I'll bet you're glad you asked.;)
Since I haven't seen a Mac since I left the Amiga 2000 behind, I can't comment on stuff in that world, but my two cents....
Microsoft Front Page strikes me as...
Though it's been a while since I last flew, I've never had any problem with getting hand inspections of film (MF) in the States. However, I put all film in a gallon Ziploc and ALWAYS include at least...
I once told a waitress I wanted to "shoot her". She said "what did I do?":D
I learned that my partner, a woman, does a much better job of communicating with women. No surprise there. I did work...
I use the Kodak one-shot kit with a Jobo and have never had a problem.
Mostly MF though. I'll bet you'll like the Kodak kit. I'll also bet they'll stop making it before too long.:p
Thanks Dave!
I looked it up and here's the link: http://doug.kerr.home.att.net/pumpkin/MXV_on_shutters_DAK.pdf
Looks like a valuable resource.
Paul
Thanks Glenn, that's good to know.
You've described exactly what happens.
Hopefully, Mr. Jones' statement will come true and just putting the thing to use will free it. The place where it lived...
Nail on head.
The camera belonged to a guy who died some time ago (not sure how long ago).
His daughter sold it to me a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure it could benefit from a cleaning and I agree...
Should have been clear on that. Available light.
I did plug the thing in to the strobes and it seemed to trigger okay.
I'm still wondering if there's a problem with the shutter.
When it was on...
All,
I've been shooting MF for nearly a decade now and 35mm for at least a couple before that. New to LF.
I've had an 8 X 10 (C1) for some time now but only dabbled.
Recently, I got a great...
Thanks Ted.
I think I'm gonna like it here.
Paul
Excellent! Thank you gentlemen.
So civilized here. On some other (non-photo) message boards they'd have eaten me alive for asking a question like that.:D
Perhaps a stupid newb question, but is a Quick Load what it sounds like?
A disposable holder. I assume you can use these instead of a holder.
Seems expensive to save loading your own but I'm...
Thanks Wayne. That's about what I thought too.
I'll post again if I can find out what the processor is. Since the covers are off it, there was no obvious make, etcetera. Just a collection of...
Hi Wayne.
I found my notebook. It's a Cibacopy CC-120.
It made nice quality prints from whatever you put on the scanner.
Sort of a giant Xerox machine that produced photo prints.
The Kenro is...
Hi All,
A former student put me in touch with a lady who's clearing out her late father's stuff.
She has a Kenro Copy Camera, some monster of a film processing machine, and a Ciba Copier. The...
If you don't mind my asking, why jpgs (they deteriorate every time you save them)?
Hiro you're a star!
Thanks for the memory jogger. Though the Minolta software (not surprisingly) still doesn't work after uninstall/reinstall, Vuescan does.
Oddly, now Dimage Scan produces...
Thanks Hiro.
I'll try it.
I took the thing apart and cleaned it a few times. The results are pretty much the same. Your suggestion makes sense as in Vuescan, I get the results I mentioned in my...
Thanks Jeffrey,
It's the original Scan Multi but the same basic design as the Pro.
I'll try a 35mm scan and see what happens but I'm not hopeful.
Though $180 probably isn't a bad deal overall,...
Hi All,
I hope this is an approriate place to post this question.
I have a Minolta Scan Multi film scanner and it has developed a problem.
Though I can scan a 6 X 7 slide, only a narrow band...
Binders for me too.
Tough to organize for me. I've told myself to scan them all, build a database, and keep everything in meticulous order. I even started the project a few times.
Too much...
That's where I got my L1200. Lovely piece and well worth the trip from NY.
Now all I need is the other half of the 6 X 7 femoneg plate.;)
There's a chart of filter values taped on my enlarger. A...
FWIW, I use the aforementioned Kodak 1-shot kit and a Jobo and always get consistant results. Roll film only for me as I've yet to shoot chrome sheet.
The Jobo is a big rip-off for what you get...
Thank you sir!
I will download the manual. I wonder why they make the manual available free for other models? Oh well, for what I paid for the 1200, I have no complaints.
Thanks again,
Paul
I'm sure it's a stupid question, but I bought a used L1200 and no manual.
So, since there's no glass in my femoneg, do I need to find only one piece or two?
It looks like there's space for two to...
The manual is a download (not free) from durst:
http://www2.durst.it/shop/ga.asp?prodcatid=6
The 1200 is a monster. Mine's a wall mount and It's up and ready to go.
Maybe tonight I'll get to...
My 2c. I've used quite a lot of Adorama's paper and like it.
As for the attitude, it's not that they're New Yorkers, it's more their culture than their location. I too have had bad experiences...
Thanks Mono! I'm going to butter a shoehorn and see if I can squeeze it into my little darkroom today.:D
Nice images on your site. Germany, Scotland, and Wales, I'm jealous. Maybe this year I'll...
Good to read since I just got back from Canada with one!
:)
Thank you Sirs.
I wrote a reply last night but it vanished.
I have seen the Beseler with the 810 conversion and that worked.
Expensive though, and as you point out, hard to find.
I have a mig...
I apologize if this has been asked and answered before, but if it has, I can't find it.
Can anyone list 4 X 5 enlargers that can be modified to do 8 X 10 adequately?
TIA
Paul
Done!
I even took it out and set it up right here next to me.
I'm gonna use it, I swear.:)
Thanks for all the responses. For some reason, I'm not getting notifications.
I'll take a look at...
Thanks All!
I shot maybe 10 sheets of film with the camera. For the first couple, I was guided by an experienced 810 shooter who was very helpful in understanding the movements and their uses.

Hi all,
This is my first post and I'm looking forward to reading your informative responses.
Though I use my RZ pretty much exclusively, I bought a C1 a couple of years ago with the intention...
