Well, checked on the camera again and could see no leaks with a holder in. I guess I'd have to get the developing out of the picture first, as it seems certain that it plays the biggest part, if not...

I guess I'll give checking with a torch one more go tomorrow. The initial leak I could see pointing the camera to the sun. After filing the lens board level and installing a seal strip, I couldn't...
HiI posted a question about possible lens flare some time ago. The problem seemed to be solved: there was a problem with the lens board / front standard giving a light leak. I didn't shoot much film...
Hi. I know this is a bit off topic, but I'll ask anyway. I've got an opportunity to set up a darkroom in
a mostly empty file storage room. Why there? It would be available for free, enough space,...
I haven't used the type in mountain photography (having done none of that), but it's just a band behind your heel tightened up to fasten the ski. If you're looking for something that'll let you...
Try factorial development. What you'd do is, expose the paper paying attention to where an appropriate contrasty spot will appear during development. During development, make note of the time when...
Closing the thread so it won't make anyone doubt the DS-12 formula. Apparently it is the fume cupboard that brought hydrogen sulphide up the drain. I've tried out mixing the developer several times...
Hi,I've just tried out the DS-12 film developer formula by Ryuji Suzuki at http://silvergrain.org/Photo-Tech/film-dev-recommend.html . It seems hydrogen sulfide was formed at two stages and I'd like...
A few words now that I've had the 5578 backpack for a while.I've had problems with the backpack shoulder straps coming loose. After being in contact with the manufacturer, they were very helpful in...
Excellent suggestion by Darin above. It's still quite possible though that you won't dare use enough force to make it really hold and you also don't want to kill the threads on the camera, be it a...
No more then an hour ago I was thinking of a way to use gelating filters I got for free in different sizes. I came across with the Lee Gel Snap thingy online and made myself one from a piece of wire,...
I'd suggest you paid a visit to a musical instruments shop, they should have the metronome you need. I'm not sure what you're referring to as a darkroom metronome, but if you mean a wooden one with a...
I'm not into other similar forms of art like painting, so I wouldn't know about painting forums, but I think I'm not completely wrong if I say that digital imaging techniques and whether they should...
I use a Tachihara with a Calumet C2 holder with no problems. Only problem I've had was with lensboard fit. It takes Linhof lensboards, but the one I've got has three protusions on the back. A circle...
Just a tip about testing gloves. Instead of dip testing, pour the chemical in the glove and see how long it takes for the stuff to start coming through. That minus some for safety is the time you've...
Just an update for no particular reason.
After talking to the seller of the objectives and having him provide a powerful movie projector as a light source we confirmed that the light leaks are...
I checked the other objective as well, and the effect's less pronounced but it leaks too. I guess this is what you get when you buy things from someone who mostly collects them instead of putting...
Problem found, thanks for the suggestions, I'm not sure if I would've found it without them.
It's indeed a light leak at the lensboard . I didn't know it would be that elusive; I actually had to...
I just checked and I can't see a leak, and yet the leaks should be quite apparent since the negative's in place without a darkslide only so long and gets exposed around the edges like that right?...
:) That's why I included the pictures. Forgot to mention they're taken of negatives though. They're denser at the corners, so brighter as in more light passed onto the negative near edges.
Hi,
I've got a problem with bright corners on negatives and I'd like to find out what's causing it. I'm pretty sure, but not absolutely certain that there should've been no direct sunlight falling...
In reply to the first post, you're saying that someone would be shooting high contrast dimly lit scenes and then pushing the film. I'd do actually just the opposite, initially place subjects on...
I thought I'd ask a dumb question instead of trying it out to save trouble and money.
So far I've only made prints on Kodak Polymax II RC and developed them in Neutol. This is the only combination...
Thanks for the view and pointing out the book, John! I guess I'll start figuring out where I can keep the camera temporarily. The darkroom's not where I'll be when I get the camera, you see. I only...
I've just come across a Agfa Geavert Repromaster 3000 I'd get for the trouble of relieving the owner of it. Can I use one for anything in large format? It would go for free, but it would take loads...
I've had a Master V, and if the 6 is like it, then the button should come out with the groove perpendicular to the meter side. There's a website with manuals for Weston meters where I checked about...
Sorry for posting my question and being such a hasty-pants then. I've ordered an Expedition 8 by Tamrac. Actually Steve's comment decided it for me once I got to know the Finnish going price of 516...
Thanks for the replies so far! One of my concerns was that since no LF gear is mentioned on the Tamrac website, I thought maybe it would only be adjustable for medium or small format camera/lens...
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a backpack. I've found an affordable Tamrac 5578 (expedition 8), which I'd be buying new. There's a previous post here where a Linhof Technica fit an Expedition 5. I don't...
