Good day,
With the recent acquisition of a Toyo 69/45 back for my Wisner, I'm in need of a 6x9 mask for 4x5.
I remember http://www.satinsnowglass.com/grids.pdf having the downloadable full...
Ill take it to an electrician tomorrow.
What a turn off this has been... Fell like shooting smaller formats, much cheaper enlargers.
Maybe I should just ditch the system and fo for a Pro-Lab 4x5.
Shipping would be a tad costly
The bulb inside the Super chromega II is the correct 24v/250w one as per recommended.
The fueses on both chromegatrols work fine. Only problem is, one buzzes for a few seconds if set to FOCUS,...
Umrah.
My dad thinks I should bring a smaller format camera instead. Might face some predicaments with local law enforcers if I were to bring a 4x5 and a tripod. Might not even bring a Leica....
I needed a lightweight camera to bring to Mecca end of this year, and that made me go with the Wista!
Am a happy camper. Going shooting waterfalls with this baby tomorrow. Though I forgot to bring...
Rectified the leak with some gaffa tape around the edges. I will need to glue it back when I have the time to do so.
Also I find it a bit odd that the locking knobs that secure the wooden thing...
Did the flash light test. Bellows show massive leakage at the point where it is glued on to the front standard. Is there a safe way to remove the bellows, for reattachment ?
The last time I...
Bellows a little bit out of shape though. Doesn't bother me..

The camera arrived today!
Upon fondling with the camera, I noticed that a screw came off, the one that locks the front swing. Luckily I found it in the box.
Will do a flashlight test tonight...
I wonder whether this would be bright enough
...
Am investing in a heavy tripod.
Anyone use the Manfrotto Super Professional Mk 2 ? Weighs a whopping 7 kilos.. Though I have always wanted a wooden tripod..
Grids are essential as I shoot landscapes.
Sealed the deal for the Wista/Zone VI. It should arrive in 2 weeks.
I will post some images. Though I would need to get a gridded ground glass first, since the one coming with the camera is...

Its a stunner alright.
Aw man in a it of a predicament, problems with seller's paypal.
How to properly use my Chromegatrol so it doesnt give in like the others?
Maybe only print in 5 minute intervals to let the bugger rest? Last one failed during 5 successive prints.
The Deardorff sold for a little over 1300USD. A tad too much since it's a beater.
Sealed the deal for the Wista/Zone VI at 500USD+45USD shipping to Malaysia.
Going with the Zone VI.
Was about to pay then noticed that Im the highest bidder of the Deardorff at 835USD. Hope someone bids on it I dont win the bugger.
Deciding factor was, I would cry less...
Am being offered a Zone VI for 550$, and a Deardroff 5x7 FS for 1100$. If I were to get the Dorff, I would need to get a few lens boards, since the ones I have are Linhof boards which fit the Zone...
I'll have someone look at in in 3 weeks.
Sigh, I guess Ill also need to let him have the dichroic color head for a while... And I just aligned the bugger!
I havent metered the output.
My 2 previous ones which broke down are both 412-045 (190-260v)
With a step down transformer.
Also the working one is dependent on a transformer, since it's 120v. Voltage in Malaysia is 240v.
I have one chromegatrol left that's working. Please guide me on how to use it the proper way.
My first 2 gave in within a few weeks. They're 20 years of age, and hasnt seen light for around 10...

Exact problem Im facing
Most of the prints on flickr with thetags 'omega d5' has some vignette..
I dont quite mind the vignette now. But it's a major turnoff not being able to print.
I flick the FOCUS/PRINT switch...
I use the medium format one. Just cleaned the diffuser plate. Maybe the lining needs replacement...
Can't do anything now since both chromegatrols don't work.
I have a color head.
Im sending it to an electrician for checking. Hope all goes well.
I cant do anything now since both my chromegatrols are dead.
They power up, fan spins, but no light.. Bulb has been replaced.
One of my chromegatrols just gave in. It powers on, but it doesnt light up the light source. Luckily I was given 2 upon purchase, and recently bought another one off ebay for 100USD.
I was about to make a print, whe I discovered a water mark on my negative. Read that some alcohol would be rid of the water spot. Alas, it didn't work, only to permanently SCUFF the negative. The...
Bellows. To focus I have to push the lens stage up high..
Aslo, color head..
Also new Osram bulbs! Problem goes away when I use 80mm lenses.
Vignettes when enlarging 35mm negatives!
Flat lens board, it focuses sharply, but vignettes heavily.
Enlarger has been aligned...
What did I do wrong?
Just double checked, the seal on the color head has deteriorated, since the grooves are worn out too, some light leaks can be seen. Ill seal it off with some cardboard everytime I print.. No biggie
Here's an update :
The counter balance springs arrived, and have been mounted on the Omega D5 XL.
Bought some allen keys, aligned the baseboard, negative tray. The color head is about 70%...
