Re: Traveling to Iceland, torn on 4x5 vs MF 6x6

I've only been once and it was too windy for a view camera the entire time. It was difficult to open a car door at times.

Re: LED Light Panel for 11x14 Enlarger?

The panel you linked to should work. I haven't used that particular product but I have used plenty of other Godox lights. They're decent for the price compared to LitePanels, Arri, or others. Keep...
  3. Re: An actual jobo cpp2 motor replacement that exists? Check this out

That’s my plan. Any idea how many amps the drive motor draws?
  4. Re: An actual jobo cpp2 motor replacement that exists? Check this out

No specs other than what’s on the gearbox. At this point, the motor runs fine outside the machine. It’s the controls that aren’t working.
  5. An actual jobo cpp2 motor replacement that exists? Check this out

Has anyone in the u.s. successfully acquired/installed this motor? I have an early model cpp2.
I appears to be a very close match to my oem motor except for the shaft which I can work around. The...

    Re: 90mm bowl questions

90mm is an odd size today. Most bowl heads now made seem to be for motion picture use and are sized 75mm, 100mm, and 150mm. Adapter rings (like a donut) are made to step heads up to bigger tripod...

Re: CPA2/CPP2 lift + Expert Drums

    yes. I've burned one up.
The older motors can't handle turning the big drums full of chemicals. Don't use more chemicals than necessary and you should be okay if you have a newer model. I don't...

Do the intrepid cameras come with some sort if finish on the plywood? If not, I recommend you put some poly on it before using it outdoors.

Lite ribbon by LiteGear has what you need. Yes, it costs more but their stuff has a cri of 95 and is pretty damn bright. I've been using it for several years at work.

  19. Re: 4x5 color sheet film....help!

    any that you can find.
I shoot velvia mostly but I'd avoid it for a trip like this as shooting it leaves very little room for exposure error and isn't well suited for most sunny day work.

Re: Chamonix 045N-2 Front Swing detent

I tighten the front down so it won't move. One my diy 8x10, I used a metallic marker to mark the bed (rather than tape) so you can verify that it's parallel.

    Hell, that's twice in 2016!
  29. Re: Brand new Chamonix 045Hs-1 and the ground glass problem

I've never had that issue with my chamonix 4x5's. I have seen similar spots on ground glasses of cameras due to water spots. Maybe take it apart and wipe it down, it could be trapped moisture.

what he said or find the nearest watering hole and have a cold one or two til the wind dies down. That's what I do. Otherwise, I'll shoot medium format when it's nasty out.

we had one of those too for cutting slabwood leftover from our sawmill that took the belt from the Farmall H tractor. It had a 20 inch blade and no blade guard to speak of. No one ever lost a digit.

Re: Micro table saw for making pinhole cameras.

just get an old 8" or 10" off craigslist for $25-50. put a 7 1/4" Diablo blade in it.
I just sold an old Craftsman at a garage sale for $30 because it was too heavy for job sites.

v750 will be fine for your needs. I own two drum scanners and a v750 and have made plenty of 16x20's from both machines and 8x10 film. While the v750 doesn't scan chromes as well as the drum...
