A bit late here, but the Laborator 1200 is designed for 9*12 cm film not so much for 4*5 inch (102x127 mm, outside dimensions), at least that is what my photography teacher taught me. As been...
Assuming you have a darkroom I would suggest that you tape some pieces of B&W paper on the door and do some test strips to see if you get to decent exposure times at a descent F stop.
good luck !...
Almost looks as if the bed of the camera (if it is a folding one like a Linhof Technika) is showing in the last image

When I used Xtol (now make Mytol myself) I used it at 1:1, filled out 250 ml glass bottles with 150ml stock, and filled the bottle to the brim with water and cap it (had also 250ml stock + water) ....
Bit late but I use the Combiplan 4*5 film holders to dry my film. I have a JOBO Mistral dryer which I let blow for 1-2 minutes on highest heat, switch off and place the Combiplan holder in. After a...
Bit late, and I can be of no help, I too have a M1, but I cannot help noticing that is seems that this knob itself can be take apart, the "grooves" seem not be aligned. Probably of no help since you...
I replaced the bellows of my Linhof Color (basically a Tech IV on a monorail), ordered the bellows through eBay, ecbuyonline, a owner named Rudy (this is al I recall right now, do a search on the...
One thing to add: (that's how I learned it, and might not be useful to you anyway, since humidity at my place is (almost) never below 60%) after the dry mount press, the hot and flat paper is moved...
One thing to add: I had some mysterious intermittent light leakage with my Toyo 810 M bellows. They were newly made by Custom Bellows, and I could not find any pinholes. Finally I could trace it down...
I use a Simma roller in combination with a 3010 JOBO Expert Drum ( http://store.khbphotografix.com/Simma-Roller-Motor-Base-Agitator-for-Print-Processing-Drums.html )
Works very nice, no...
I would also guess a stabilizing rod, and the bellows do not look to good either, but I geuss you know already.
good luck,

Check if the nuts/holes in the " top" part let light through, unlikely to happen I guess, but check it anyway would be my advise

Bit late in this thread, but when I had more space and a bathtub I would put 2 40*50 prints back to back when still wet, and hang them on a clothes line above the tub, using wooden cloth pins on all...
FWIW when I occasionally use 8*10 for pure Platinum printing I expose and process in Xtol for normal silver gelatine, if I like the image enough for platinum, I bleach the neg and re-develop in...
I agree, and my post was indented as such, clearly ill phrased. What I meant to say; always remove the head when at the top, if not possible secure it down with a GOOD spanner and than remove the...
If you remove the head, probably wise for transport, be aware that the reaming part of the head will jump up to the top of the big rail. Better secure the head at the lowest position, and use a good...
Let's not forget the small footprint, and the option to heat the solution (my Nova version), a real bonus at my attic in winter time. Stop en Fix can stay inside, and with the right developer will...
Good that you found the solution ! At least in the future your post can be found by others perhaps facing the same issue.
good luck,
Cor
You are correct, but your problem is when you tilt forward, or backward by lifting the levers, the big round knob does not tighten /fix the position, right ?
Cor
Not at home to check my MK 1 (and use it far too little for such a nice camera), but isn't the black lever, just above the red circle the release for the tilt ?

Cor
Just some things to add:
I started with a Tech III from 1954, with it's original leather bellows, which are still ok !
I upgraded to a Linhof Technica Color (basically a Tech IV on a rail) from...
I hardly use a compendium, partly I do not seem to be very proficient in using them..I seem to include the edged on my negative, I know about looking through the cut corners on my ground glass, I...
I have a L1200 too, but AFAIK the possibilities to adjust are limited. There were lens boards with adjustment screws. The lens stage can only be adjusted up and down at the left or right side, same...
I have the 3010 (?) version for 4*5; I place the tank on a Simma Roller (or comparable), and add the solution while it is rolling through a funnel with an elastic tubing attached. The tube goes in...
I wonder if your copied 8*10 negative will give the same quality Pt prints which you dad made (that is: if you want to make Pt prints which is not clear to me0. I assume the original negatives are...
Probably not very helpful but I would try to return that seriously damaged camera and get my money back. You did not had the opportunity to investigate the camera before buying ? I mean the 1500 usd...
I have easy access to Van Gelder's Simili Japon, an excellent paper for both processes (and many more). It does have a yellowish tint. In my hands/experience I find Kallitypes more attractive than...
I am aware of the pitfalls, but I am only interested in measuring upto 1/30, cannot remember I ever used a faster speed. So my question remains: will my home made sensor damage my phone ?

Came recently across a fairly old (2013) thread on this forum:

So I downloaded the...
Thanks for all the feedback, and for the clear example above, Mick !
I am now reassured, there is no need for me to re-shoot the scene with the 90 mm SA. the scene is such that I would have to use...
I have seen the trick in books, but I rather not mess with the alignment of my enlarger, even though it is Durst L1200 Laborator, and did not wanted the leaning distracting verticals in the final...
Thanks !
Got quite some distortion at the edges, ie leaning in traffic lights etc. But that was to be expected, since I had to point the camera up to record the open bridge parts which were...
yes, I realize that the loss of quality when not using the complete negative, and thus enlarging more is perhaps the biggest drawback; I usually print my 4*5 negatives on 30* 40 cm paper, sometimes...
Hi,
Due to circumstances I shot a subject (an open bridge) with a too wide of a lens, I used my f5.6 65mm SA while the scene could have been captured with my f8 90 mm SA. So when printing I did...
I use the 4*5 holder of the Combi Plan developing tank in a Jobo Mistral film drying cabinet (I do not run hot air along the films, only before I place the film holder). The film holder is placed in...
Sorry to get back so late, but I found my testing of the IR prototype film (back in 2007)
Shot at 8asa
70 filter
Processed in PyrocatHD 1:1:100, 22degC, 16 minutes
The film is indeed very...
Should not be too hard to correct (either digital or analogue) in case you would want it.
Best,
Cor
BTW I have never ever wrapped any tank in foil when processing IR film, including the realy sensitive late Kodak HIE film, frankly I think it is MACO b..t, they have a track record on bold...
If it is the prottype I got many years ago (going from memory now): it was supposed to be the replacement of the EFKE made IR film, sold under the Maco brand, which was labeled IR820c a decent nice...
