  1. Re: Looking for a new camera: Shen-Hao vs Chamonix

I use a Shen Hao TFC45 non-folding camera and love it. It's harder to find and gets overlooked. Not as versitile but just wanted to let you know it's out there. It's good to have options.

    Omega D2 Baseboard Size

I'm picking-up an Omega D2 this upcoming week and am going to be building a stand for it. Can someone please tell me what size their baseboard is? I might just screw the enlarger to the stand but the...

    Re: Setting up a darkroom?

Thanks Louie. Sounds like that should work well for me. I've already been reading on the many ways to try to get 'em to lay flat...

    Neil,

I've read all three, but now that I'm really considering going this direction I believe they would make more sense. I've also read (and watched) Fred Picker's and Bruce Barlow's stuff and...

Thanks again all. I just finished writing on my blog - venting a little on what's been going through my head as of late on this issue. Read it if you'd like: robertglieden.blogspot dot com.

    Re: Setting up a darkroom?

Thanks Nate. The frosted glass seems like a quick affordable way to get started (without the cold light head) and I will probably end up trying this once I get an enlarger. I imagine I can find it...

It sounds like my worries about selenium are incorrect. I had just been told that the stuff was pretty nasty and therefore had written it off. I will definitely look into it more. Thank you for the...

    Re: Hahnemuhle problem w/3800

I found this paper to be finicky with my 3800 as well. I had to try lots of different settings with the platen gap and paper thickness to make it work. With that and the surface texture I didn't care...

Re: Gold Fibre Silk trouble - Help!

Rolls would solve the problem - it can't curl at the end like a sheet. No worries all; if I was really concerned I'd go and buy a humidifier (I probably should for my own sake anyway) and I trust...

    Brian,

Thank you for that idea. I've always and only used the manual rear sheet feed. If I get some more of this paper in the future I will certainly try the front.
