    Re: Starting with ULF

I've been shooting x ray film on occasion and have never had any problems with it. I have not seen it in a two sided emulsion. You might want to try ZZ Medical (I don't have any connection to them)....

    Re: Starting with ULF

I'm awaiting the arrival of a new 11x14, I've been shooting 8x10 for a number of years. My question to you all is what would be considered a "prime lens" for that size?
  3. Re: Pur water filtration instead of Distilled water?

I use distilled water for the developer and pre wet. Here in Sacramento the water can be a bit iffy. My biggest concern is the pesticides and associated chemicals from the farm land in the area. The...

Re: Confessions of a camera junkie

Ah, ya'll make me feel so normal! Currently one 8x10 Kodak 2d, a Mamyia 330, a Mamyia 33, and a new to me Pentax K1000 which is a replacement for the one I'd bought in 1978 but was stolen by a gopher...

Re: Does This Dark Cloth/Hood Exist?

I like the idea of the magnets. I'll have to give it a go.

Found a second use for the dark cloth. Was shooting pics of some sculptures late night with a full moon. Of course my flashlight...

Re: Can ball head weight ratings be trusted?

The woman I had spoken to on the phone claimed that a couple guys there shot Kodak 2d 8x10. Sounded fishy but as I said I try to buy us made goods when possible. She made all sorts of promises on...

Re: Black jacket focusing cloth users...

I went cheap and got some fabric from Joann Fabrics. The white cloth I got is silky and the black with some tooth to it so it doesn't slide too much on my head. A bit of hand stiching (no sewing...

Re: Can ball head weight ratings be trusted?

I had gotten a tripod with a ball head from Really Right Stuff, a manufacturer in San Luis Obispo here in CA, a family owned company. Heinously expensive but US. I had called them because I too...

Saw this the other day and it made me laugh. It applies even more to LF:

    Re: Arista Ortho Litho ISO?

I noticed the lack of notchs and figured out a solution, as long as I put the notch on the correct side. I used a hole punch to make a notch at the edge of the film. Works thus far.

Re: Have you ever been mocked for LF?

    Re: "Guess size matters"
He was talking about "boy parts." Can't think of a socially acceptable way to put it on a forum.... Not exactly what I would say in person.

Re: where to dry film in home darkroom

Bathroom is pretty much lintless. My wet room is a tiny bathroom with thick waterproofed plywood screwed to 2x4s laid across the bathtub. A stool beside the tub, safelight facing up on the TP roll...

    Re: post alternative techniques

Are you talking about sizing or gelatin/hardening? With sizing all you have to do is let it soak in really hot water for about 30min, shuffling the sheets. Then of course hanging to dry.
