    Re: Question relative scanner performance

Wilderness, I do have the original film holders, but they only go up to 4x5 (which works well). Nothing that will accommodate a 5x7.

    Re: Question relative scanner performance

I'm using the internal glass platen, not the top glass, with a piece of museum glass to hold the negative flat. Perhaps my expectations are simply too high, but over and over I seem to see images...

    Question relative scanner performance

Please pardon a somewhat vague question, but I'm looking for information and opinions on two scanners relative to each other.

I own a MicroTek Scanmaker 8700. It's old and slow, but has worked...

Re: Stuck focus rack on Toyo 45G

No, on a Toyo 45, there's a single focus knob, with the lock on a separate lever on the same axis. The only thing I can figure is that either something is hanging up the gear rack, or somehow the...

Stuck focus rack on Toyo 45G

    Syncro Compur X sync problem

I have a Syncro Compur shutter which offers both "M" and "X" sync. ON "M" the shutter cocks and fires properly, but when I switch the mode lever to "X" I can cock the shutter, but it will not fire....

  10. Question on ground glass position in Cambo 5x7 back

I've just acquired an older Cambo 5x7 monorail. It has a few minor issues that I'm dealing with right now, but one more notable problem is with the film back. The ground glass is essentially floating...

    Hello from Ohio

I'm new to this forum, apart from lurking every so often, but not new to photography by any means. lots of digital and medium format, and some 4x5. I just recently started into 5x7 and I'm hoping to...
